“One area of potential concern is the correlation between marijuana use and mental health issues among older adults. Among those 50 and older, people who have had depression (11.4 percent) or anxiety in the past year (9.0 percent) are much more likely to smoke marijuana than average. A number of studies have shown a link between marijuana use and mental disorders.”
@PocketBrain right, that’s why I chuckled. The site tried to make the connection of people using marijuana to help with mental disorders out as people having mental disorders because of marijuana use.
Is it surprising that no one trusts mainstream media anymore?
I live in Massachusetts which just passed recreational marijuana, but you can’t buy it from a retail shop until 2018. I’m not interested in buying from a dealer.
However, I am likely to move to Indiana in the next few months. So I’m going from the land of liberals to one of the most conservative states in the country. I’m guessing Indiana will be the last state to legalize marijuana.
@Kevin Move to Illinois instead! We have medical cannabis here. You have to be half dead to qualify for it though.
I should know because I work for one of the cultivators and one of the things I have to do is help sick people get their cards… or tell them that they don’t qualify
When you’re old enough no one asks you to pee in a cup anymore…
@2many2no Well, your doctor does, but he/she probably wrote the prescription.

This line made me chuckle
@legendornothing Wait, marijuana use as a result of mental disorders, or mental disorders as a result of marijuana use? It’s an important distinction.
@PocketBrain Yeah, but either way I’m apparently screwed.

@Pavlov
Well, they say, when you get older, you get a second childhood. Perhaps we won’t get a second childhood - perhaps we’ll get a second youth.
Up for some psilocybin or mescal?

@f00l Psilocybin. Ohhhhh myyyyyyy.
Funny for me…

@Kevin You don’t have it as bad as you think. IN is only average conservative compared to Deep South (SC, MS, AL) and Mountain West (ID, WY, UT).
@Kevin There was a great article I saw yesterday from a journalist who spent 2 days trying to buy weed now that its legal in Mass.

@compunaut Depends on where in Indiana…
