I miss @shrdlu!
12@shrdlu shared this in the Woot community, and since she doesn't seem to hang out here, I thought I'd help her spread the fun.

Ah shrdlu. She's now one of few distinctions between our community of the past and present. Shrdlu and our foul mouths. And various staff still doing good work there.
Great video short. I wasn't sure if I was watching a trailer. Production quality and acting were quite good. Had it already been a full length movie I'd expect it to be cliche Disney plot -- perhaps that it's a new director pitching gives promise of a good screenplay too.
article on it: http://www.firstshowing.net/2014/watch-david-weinsteins-incredible-sci-fi-robot-short-film-envoy/
@snapster Someone mentioned there were people with octopus badges. I didn't believe them... Then I find you.
I require employment so I can have that badge. Resume can be provided on request.
@darkzrobe you'd require CEO status to get the breakfast octopus badge.
@Ignorant Hmmm well I didn't know my employment would require CEO status. But I accept.
@darkzrobe - There can be only one.
@KDemo For now...
That. Was. Awesome. That was shot and edited by an amateur??
I miss shrdlu too. I need her to join up on meh so she can threaten to quit over and over again whenever I make some pedantic change to the way the forums work.
@shawn Is that how I get my way with feature requests? NOTED!
@shawn +1
@shawn +1 for old times sake, @wootfast I have your autograph....makes me wonder how many Meh staffers are on my special poster. Maybe I will post it and we can see.
@xarous meh got me like:
@wootfast At least you are here. lol
shrdlu was a lady?!
@medz I'd imagine she still is.
@medz Yes, she is. An interesting lady, with a love of gardening and antiques.
@Thumperchick -- and cooking and canning and technology and (business) style . . .
@KDemo if I knew how to track every public comment shrdlu made on the net, i'd follow her thoughts all day, and would be better for the exercise - unless I lost my job thereby. All her comments are illuminating.
@Thumperchick and don't forget about dressing up as a witch and stirring her pot. I liked that story a lot. She will be on deals when called.
That was great.
Be careful what you wish for....she is kinda like Beetlejuice, say her name too many times and she appears! <.< >.> looks over shoulder to see if she is standing behind me with a knife
instead of saying it the third time, just use this symbolic picture
@snapster Wow, I had NO idea that Linotype had its own keyboard layout... ETAOIN SHRDLU!!!
@curtise yes it's fun history - I grabbed from the wiki itself http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Etaoin_shrdlu
@snapster There is a great documentary called Linotype: The Film. I was a Kickstarter backer and, along with the dvd, got a pin that says "Who is Etaoin Shrdlu?"
Rumor is this was all shot on the Canon T5 for sale on the homepage.
I blame @sohmageek for scaring her off of the internet.
@juststephen Who? I feel like a freaking Genie... Poof I get blamed but nothing to tell me what I'm getting blamed about... I'm sorry I can say that I don't bite... Well ok... not hard... ok FINE I don't leave marks... Usually.
@juststephen she never left the internet... just the parts you hang out in...
