I used to LOVE Zebra Pens... now the domestic versions are made in Mexico and the quality control has gone to hell... I now use this one: http://www.jetpens.com/Uni-ball-Signo-207-Premier-Retractable-Gel-Pen-0.7-mm-Silver-Body-Black-Ink/pd/8466 I get cheaper ink from the regular singo 207 or from other misc. gel pens. I had really liked Staple's version of the same gel pens but not the pen it's self. I just stole the ink for the good pen I had.

Other than gel pens I bet someone can guess my 2nd favorite type of pen (it may be my absolute favorite, but it's a bit too expensive and "fancy" for most)

@sohmageek I use Zebra pens at work. I have a handful of older ones and I just buy the ink refills. They still seem fine to me but I bought 10 refills at a time so they may still be older stock.

@sohmageek I tend to only use Signo 207's. Though I tend to go with the cheaper version of them as they often walk away. Is your other favorite a Mont Blanc?

@stardate820926 if you look at the top of the refill it is labeled as to what country it comes from, for the longest time they were only in Japan.... then there were a few USA ones I found... they were worse but manageable. Then I got the Mexico ones... Not all of them, (and I'm not saying anything against mexico, just the quality control of the product coming from that one plant) but most of them are the worst. I started wearing pocket protectors a while ago (6 yrs or so) and I'm glad I did one day... the pen exploded Gel ink... everywhere. Then I also had a lot of the bubbles form, and had to try to figure out how to flush the ink down... a few times the pen had too big of a bubble and 1/2 of the ink was wasted. So I gave up with them. It says right on it. I can't get a good picture of it though. Checking my stash... I have one of the airfit's with the original ink in it, then 6 207's and a old sarasa with a refill of avant (staples brand) I'm running low.

@cinoclav my other favorite is a style not a particular brand. It's not ball or gel. :)

@mfladd @cincoclav yes... I love Fountain pens. I also love colors other than standard blue and black... (my favorite for the longest time was blackblue which was a dark black. Right now I think purple and green are pretty high on the list.

@sohmageek I like colors, unfortunately we're required to use black ink at work. Hospitals tend to be oddly strict about it. I'd imagine working for a financial institution, you're supposed to also.

@sohmageek If you haven't, you should try Rohrer & Klingner's 'Scabiosa' ink. It's a purple iron-gall ink, so rather purple-black. My everyday ink.
