Am I stupid? I'm really tired. I missed the fuku because I had to sign in and update my address/payment and I want to update it so I can just check out next time, but I ..... can't figure out how.
That's not the only way, but it is the fastest. You can write into support and they'll remove your current payment method, then you can add the new one.
There really should be a way to edit payment/shipping methods from the account page, but it hasn't been built yet. (for this site, anyway)
@Thumperchick Is it weird that I think that's weird? Seems like a fundamental aspect of an ecommerce site. How do I add the new one once they remove it? Don't I still have to buy something?
@HELLOALICE Absolutely not weird! It seems like a basic functionality that should be there. @JonT just did a Q&A on periscope and said that this issue is one "in the works" - but couldn't give us a timeline. So they know it's wonky, they just need time to fix it. It seems simple on our end, but they have to do all the crazy stuff to make sure our CC info stays secure on the back end as well. Which I'm sure takes much more time to test than they'd like it to.
@HELLOALICE I'd agree that it's a fundamental aspect of a traditional ecommerce site, but since we're just a daily deal site we thought we'd try to simply let you add new payment settings at the time of checkout, because why else would you want to fuss with payment settings unless you're buying the one and only thing we're selling that day?
I've seen this pop up about a half dozen times so we're going to build it into new account settings pages.
@Thumperchick the only functional reason to have this feature is to change the payment setting associated with your recurring VMP payment, but that alone seems reason enough to build it.
@shawn you are forgetting about the most important reason to have an up to date card, SPEEDY CHECKOUT for when you guys put the irk plushie up for sale...(or you know, a fuku or speaker dock) ;)
You're not stupid - Meh hasn't built it yet. It's coming soon, they're working on it, but it isn't built yet. As others have said, the fastest way to do it right now is to buy something, put new CC info in, then cancel the order.
Right now, the only way is to buy the current deal and then immediately cancel it.
@jont you see this thread? This is nuts!!
@Kidsandliz I believe @Shawn indicated they were working on a solution.

@shawn It seems like you guys worked hard to give us the streamlined, no frills, no bs site we all asked for... and we want frills. Sorry.

Sneak peek (subject to change):

@shawn TIGHT, bro, thank you!
