@yakkoTDI yep I so agree, being from the South, we get the Sauna. High temps & hi Humidity. Without it, it ain’t the south! And, of course, then comes the skeeters, Don’t you just love them!
@jadesabrexiv I was just looking at the forecast and was shocked to see mostly 80s for highs (not even lows!) this week and it being late July and all, but there’s plenty of summer to come and plenty of opportunities for the heat to get back into form. August is usually when the real pain comes anyway, traditionally.
Being End of the south, where are used to to nannies for weeks on end, humidity close to 100%, of course you go outside and start getting your Saturday bath on Monday. But sadly it has been too Cool! Plus low humidity. What is a good Southerner supposed to do?
But those in Arizona get a dry heat. I have been in Boston mass late July and they were complaining about how hot it was. Yeah, it was in the upper 90s but the humidity was so low they could’ve even been single digits.
@mycya4me I live in Boston and the humidity has been 80-90% for 3 weeks. That’s the equivalent of weather eternity here. The weather is never that steady here. NEVER.
Also, anyone that can flourish in humidity clearly has some type of super power that I do not possess.
@zinimusprime Hey, I was there to do some work at Kinkos copy shops. a few years aback of course that is before FedEx changed the name.
I had to do I think 8 in the metro area. Do you know what it is like to give me a rental car, someone from the South, Yes, Pre GPS days! I was using paper maps. Driving up there is NUTS, I prefer driving in Washington, DC when it is Raining! Philly was not that bad either!
I remember seeing the offices of Click & Clack’s law office! Yes the week I was their was a mild upper 90’s with a low humidity. To me the feel like was very close to the actual temp!
Remember being Born & Raised in the South you get that super power, it becomes baked in! But I would not do good in your Winters! So you have a super power I don’t have!
I was also in a area called BrainTree. The gang at Harvard office told me the best way to get to the Kinko’s at Post Office Square was to use the Subway.
Also i was there a year before a couple ceiling tiles in the “Big Dig” tunnel released & fell onto a car.
Not yet. My bodily fluids are not even simmering yet.

@mycya4me Helicopter sized skeeters.
@yakkoTDI Of course what is Summer in the South without them. Of course you have those teak torches with their special candles to keep them away!
Winter is not coming fast enough.
@kjady winter can just stay the f*** away. It hasn’t hit 120 yet it’s not too hot
@kjady I think we have to blame George R. R. (R. you ever going to finish your books?) Martin for Winter not coming fast enough.
@kjady Be happy, Dollar Tree has Autumn decor and Halloween stuff coming out now
Honestly, Texas is still in the “Pre-Heating” stage. August is likely going to be brutal.

@jadesabrexiv yep that’s what I have heard!!
@jadesabrexiv It was actually really nice outside in the northern Houston area this morning. Dare I say almost cool.
Fuck.
@f00l hehehehehe! Not HOT enough yet, Plus, turn up the humidity, we need that!
@f00l Also don’t do that in front of the kids! You might scare them! hehehe

Dry desert heat here. We usually get a very few 100+ days in August. We’ve been having weeks of 100+ in July, and even in June. August should be fun.
Nighttime lows are high 70’s and mid 80’s.
TL;DR: Shut. Up.
@blaineg well said sir
68F here in Northern Michigan today. Walked the dogs in the rain in a tshirt. Love it
OK seriously, I stopped at a long traffic light and started to sink into the asphalt.
@PocketBrain are you sure your rubber wasn’t melting?
Not only hot, but now dirty smoky air because of the wildfires up north. I just hope we don’t get wildfires here …
How it feels stepping outside to get my mail:
Today, as has been the case often in the recent past, Google Weather is showing an Excessive Heat warning. I’m not sure exactly why…
