Already have 2 roasters, one which is vintage, blue enamel with white dots. Need to sell that one as the other one is my grandma's and my goose would be cooked if I sold that one. Definitely do not need a third one. Besides my goal is to find someone else to cook the turkey.
@Stallion Yeah but the other review says they used it three times as well and haven't had any problems. It is hard to tell a product's reliability with only two reviews where one goes high and the other goes low.
@w4ffles_ My mom uses foil on her bird to make what looks like a pup tent. Would the lid be similar to that or even more restrictive due to the decreased air flow. I am an eater not a cooker but if I could make life easier for someone, this might be worth it.
@w4ffles_ The larger the bird, the longer it needs to cook. On the other hand, the skin takes the same amount of time, independent of size. Start with the lid on. Take the lid off at the right time to get the skin the way you like it. I've been a vegetarian for a decade, and I've forgotten the precise timing.
What does "Ecologically advanced water based non-stick coating is PFOA free" really mean ? And how do I know that it really is safe. Serious questions. There's so much stuff out there about unsafe coatings and liners and such that it makes me a bit freaked out.
BTW, Where is this thing made ? That might offer some clues.
@ceagee I recently bought a frying pan with a water based non-stick coating that was PFOA free. That pan was lined with a type of ceramic, which is to say, high temperature glass, or you could say highly processed sand. The "water based" part is just silly marketing talk, just as there is no water left in water based paint, once the paint has dried, there is no water left in the non-stick coating after it is melted onto the surface. I suppose "water based" lets you know that it isn't a 1950's style epoxy coating.
@ceagee I just take the stance that there will be a study every few years about how something we've been using for decades is poisonous and will cause cancer. I assume everything is bad for us so it's best to not even worry about it. Plus maybe I'll get lucky and get mutant super powers or something.
I would have been much happier if the title would have simply said "Let's Eat Grandma" and the writeup would have been a discussion on the importance of proper punctuation. And possibly include the grandmother protesting her impending demise.
That is a very nice rubber chicken and I was impressed by the correct positioning of the probe, however at this time I am not purchasing any baking or roasting ware that will not fit in a smallish toaster oven.
This really brought me back to the "deal a day" glory days. I'm a vegetarian, I don't cook turkey dinners for guests, but at this price, I bought two. I don't know why.
My cabinet of pots and pans are so full I could not get another item in there. Especially one I won’t use. Besides I still have to explain the flying robots when they get here.
@mdrcoast Looks to me like Meh is selling a non-stick flying robot storage container today. And if security's an issue, you can hide them inside a 24-lb. turkey and hide the turkey in this.
I don't really ever roast anything, but I should soon be getting my Anova sous vide pump that I got via their Kickstarter campaign, and at 10" x 15", this should hold a couple of strip steaks or duck breasts just fine for that purpose. Meh sourcing, howzabout a vacuum food sealer soon?
Why did I get this? Somebody please tell me! Is meh using some kinda Jedi mind trick? Maybe some hidden subtle commands between the wording if read backwards (doesn't everybody do that?) Does it have to do with " ruthless-ripe-skeleton"? OR could it be that I just thought it was a good buy? Will it bake up road kill to taste? Warped minds wanna know.
@ceagee simply search " roast turkey paper bag"... sounds odd, but it really does make for a moist bird. just be sure not to use the method in a convection oven.
Wow, this is a really great product. Of course I didn't buy it.
By the way, it's sad to realise that with all the wealth of the world (I mean the world GDP), I could buy only 6,249,999, 999,999 of these roasters. How poor our planet really is!
hmm, I ordered this and now I'm thinking about how we use a shallow pan and tinfoil allowing us to reach the juices and cut the turkey without removing it from the cooking apparatus, thus saving us mess and time.... now I regret my $12 impulse purchase:(
Oh no, missing two of three thermometers from my order. Now i'm regretting placing this impulse buy. In limbo waiting for the meh gods to fix the travesty.

@JT954 apparently "something went terribly Wrong" now it appears i've ordered three!
@neilsheehan2010 If you are going to fail, do it three times over.
A turkey of a deal. Meh.
@heartny The ghost of the freakishly tight skinned face of Joan Rivers approves...
@Guy767 Cassandra?
Like the thermometer in Pumpkin color
This is so Meh it's not even worthy of the M.
Eh.
Fuck.
@peas Now, now,.... let's watch that language, we want to keep it clean around here. Errr.... not.
Baby arm is back.
@KDemo And it's Roasting-Up-Crazy!
.........
I already have a decent roaster, but this does look pretty nice.
Meh for me, but it does seem like a REALLY good deal if you just happened to need that at this very moment.

@Kidsandliz Honey Baked Ham company sells awesome pre-roasted or smoked turkeys, but you still have to warm them up unless you want to go cold turkey.
Looks like the Komedy Kornhole needs a new headliner.
@Cinoclav That's some bad Cluck.
I have about a half dozen of those timers - any guess where they came from?
@jmhsrv 5 finger discount from woot by the baby arm?
@Kidsandliz you foud me out
Standard Meh product and one of the Amazon reviewers said theirs peeled inside. I'll pass.
@Stallion Yeah but the other review says they used it three times as well and haven't had any problems. It is hard to tell a product's reliability with only two reviews where one goes high and the other goes low.
A covered roasting pan will lead to chewy skin on a turkey. I prefer rubbing olive oil and herbs on the turkey to get a crispy skin.
@w4ffles_ can I have thanksgiving dinner at your house? Sounds good.
@w4ffles_ so I should tell the grandma I'm rooting for to keep the top off. Thanks for the advice.
@w4ffles_ You could use this pan uncovered and find a different use for the cover. This could very well be thine own "Helm of Roasting," for instance.
@Crixus .
@w4ffles_ My mom uses foil on her bird to make what looks like a pup tent. Would the lid be similar to that or even more restrictive due to the decreased air flow. I am an eater not a cooker but if I could make life easier for someone, this might be worth it.
@w4ffles_ The lid is for keeping dust out of it the other 364 days it's not used. I paid more for a cheapy that has disappeared so I'm in.
@Tinkerbunk That was funny.
How is meh making any profit on shipping me a 7lb turkey roaster for $12?
@Collin1000 Turkey not included?
@Collin1000 The true profit margin lies with the Wallet Ninjas and speaker docks. Look for both to return shortly.
Decapitated possum heads and shoddy turkey pans are a dangerous combination; I fear for our souls. I only hope my meh will protect me...

It is a nice looking pan.
@ceagee That means it doesn't work and will peel off, but when it gets in your food and you ingest it you won't die. Right away.

got that thermometer in a Boggy Old Creature recently
curious very curious !
No idea why I bought this, but it seemed like a good idea at the time.
A little off topic, but where can I get that hat?
@dfunk29 Do you crochet? You can get the pattern: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/crocheted-turkey-dinner-hat
@dfunk29 If you don't crochet, you could try here: https://www.etsy.com/search?q=turkey%20hat%20adult&order=most_relevant
No Georgia Red. . . for that alone, meh.
@jrwofuga Yah, but if you cooked a ham, I bet you could come close with the pork color.
I would have been much happier if the title would have simply said "Let's Eat Grandma" and the writeup would have been a discussion on the importance of proper punctuation. And possibly include the grandmother protesting her impending demise.
Meh, acraigl already gave me the thermometer, the best part of this whole thing...
Chicken and Dumplins...
@PyxienTX That would be my favorite. That would be a lot of Chick-dump.
@kylewood My daughter makes them. They are so good that I bought her another pot. That means more for ME.
Who made the turkey in the photo?
The cooked turkey, not the.. stuffed turkey.
@marklog Manufacturer photo. I wish we did. That looks like some good eating. Yummo!
This roaster isn't electrical, is it?
@RicoSuave Not unless you hook your car battery cables to each of the handles.
That is a very nice rubber chicken and I was impressed by the correct positioning of the probe, however at this time I am not purchasing any baking or roasting ware that will not fit in a smallish toaster oven.
@Alien But think of the rubber chickens! What would Rubber Chicken Hesus Do? Please reconsider; I'll baste for you...
@Alien Forgot to put the disclaimer on that to not use as a rectal thermometer. Just saying.
@kylewood Agh, Jesus. No wonder the damn thing won't squawk.
Did we mention that this can be used as a Bedpan for one of those camping trips or Bigfoot hunting adventures?
@kylewood That's funny.
My VMP sure is getting dusty.
This really brought me back to the "deal a day" glory days. I'm a vegetarian, I don't cook turkey dinners for guests, but at this price, I bought two. I don't know why.
@TheArtimus tofu turkey?

best way to roast a turkey is in a paper bag... much cheaper than $12 and produces a must better bird
@Noddy93 How does this work ?
@ceagee simply search " roast turkey paper bag"... sounds odd, but it really does make for a moist bird. just be sure not to use the method in a convection oven.
Does this mean it's bluetooth ? Will it play music too ?
@ceagee Is it compatible with a Mac? Is it waterproof?
Wow, this is a really great product. Of course I didn't buy it.

@Opemiyaku
@Opemiyaku This thumbnail's hard to see. Can you post the full-size version? Thanks.
