Goat Day 8: Sick Day
3Well, I overextended myself yesterday. I'm pretty sick. Haven't really gotten out of bed. Haven't eaten at all. At least it's not a long day since we lost an hour last night.
Head colds are the worst. I'm just hoping it's not the flu or something like that. I rarely take sick days. I think I've only take 5 sick days in 15 years of working.
So again, my apologies, but I'm going to keep this short again.
TODAY'S DEAL
I will say that any inflatable mattress rocks. I got one in a bag of crap a couple of years ago, and it is much better than sleeping on the hard floor. This one looks good too because it's taller than the one I have. I just wish it came with a battery operated pump.
TODAY'S QUESTION
Did you ever play hooky as a kid, and if so, why?
Until tomorrow... BLEcoughcough

Feel better soon! Never, ever, ever played hooky, sadly...
boo! Hope you feel better fast! I got sick too much as a kid to be able to play hooky.
@BillLehecka The first time I ever skipped school was to attend the first screening available of Empire Strikes Back in the little town I was living in at the time . Once I learned how easy it was to skip, I was absent more than half the days of the school year in every successive year of High School and still managed to graduate with a 4.0.
Either I've grown a lot dumber as I age or the curriculum was just a heck of a lot easier in the early 80's because here I sit pushing 50 and I can't help my 10 year old with his math.
Feel better soon, goat.
Hope you feel better soon! bleat, bleat….
Its just not the same to heckle a sick goat. Get better soon @BillLehecka
I skipped about a third of each year from 8th-10th grade. I had crippling social anxiety, so I just stayed home and slept and watched Days of Our Lives and cartoons.
The tricky part was the robo-call from the school every evening. I had to pretend to be a typical teenage girl and sit by the phone every night so I could answer it before anyone else. Then I had to keep up fake conversations with/about boys.
Eventually I got caught, and my mom prematurely redeemed my savings bonds (child support from my dad) so she could send me to a private school. The smaller school helped me a lot.
@katylava - Major points to your mother for her proactive reaction.
My stepfather taught languages at my high school. Made it trickier, but most days I still cut seventh period social studies to hang out with my friends.
