Goat Day 27: Sometimes You Can Always Get What You Want

Afternoon, kids. BTW, I'll start today's journal entry by saying that I'll be looking for questions for the third and final Ask a Goat Anything on Monday, so think of something fun to ask, and I'll answer as snarkily as possible.

ODDS & ENDS

-My hotelpocalypse (for SDCC) came down last night... and for the first time in 5 years, I got the hotel I wanted. This is certainly a weird feeling that I'm not used to. Usually I end up 5 or 6 miles away in Mission Valley. This place is about a mile from the convention center, but it's not exactly a trek, either. I'm pleased. Now I can kind of stop thinking about it for another couple of months.

-While the men's team failed to reach the sweet 16, my alma mater, the University of Dayton Lady Flyers, made the Sweet 16 of the women's tourney. Best part? They're playing in Albany! So I'll check them out tomorrow afternoon. I bought all session passes, so for the first time in forever, I'll be watching women's basketball. Should be a hoot.

-I'm a week late in reporting this, but it looks like I named a minor league baseball team:

The Hartford Yard Goats. Hartford certainly can rustle up fear in visiting teams when they have sported teams such as the Whalers and Yard Goats.

Looks like they went all out to announce the team name, too.

TODAY'S DEAL

Steam cleaning is the best! It really does help get grime off metal objects. I highly recommend it. I should buy one of these things, but I'm not. I'm just trigger shy.

- @pitamuffin Maybe, but there's a ton of jokes in there about the other team having them for lunch. Or maybe about giving the other team heartburn, depending on their win/loss. Though I suspect that a win is an excuse for the team to go out and get fried.

Anyway, I was going to say the Stanford Tree. But while looking for an image to post, I discovered that it is not the official mascot. So nevermind. But it is lame.

@BillLehecka SDCC? Stop by the hasboro booth and pick up the Magic specuial for about $111. Then you can flip on Amazon or something for 2-3x cost. Lots of us Magic players drool over the chance for sdcc mostly for that but other things too.

- @BillLehecka I didn't realize it was that long. I was pretty sure they had enough due to a sale on them afterwards at hasboro's webstore. But then again sold out quick. What do you tend to do there? I've wanted to go but don't get the opportunity to do so.
