1x Gabba Goods 1080P HD Webcam for Computers & Laptops
@Kyser_Soze i have a laptop with a web cam, but i also use a 27" monitor. I have to face the laoptop screen to look at the camera, but my data is on another monitor. This makes it look like i’m not paying attention. And the glow from the big monitor lights me from the side creating an unbalanced and unflattering display.
@Kyser_Soze Also, the vaaaast majority of laptop webcams are 720P. It’s legitimately difficult to find a 1080P webcam, and my OnlyFans subscribers have paid to see my hairless, undulating mass in the highest definition. They paid bad money for the privilege.
@Hamhands More than 4 bit color. That is only 16 colors. It is very touchy about blowing out the exposure with too much light, but it’s at least better image quality than the built in camera on a MacBook pro.
@goldnectar The reviews say these are good for shy people like you. They add noise and significantly distort the images, so you won’t be very recognizable.
Apparently in regular lighting the pictures are very grainy as if shot in low light. Low light makes it far worse.
There is significant fisheye distortion.
You can degrade the image further by putting the camera behind some plastic that isn’t flat. This can add some fun house mirror distortion. It also gives a surface to collect condensation, if you want extra privacy. Just have a tea kettle handy for when you want to disappear into the fog.
I haven’t used it much yet, but the lights are VERY BRIGHT and if it’s plugged in, the red light is on all the time. I had to put tape over it.
IDK, the camera output looked p good to me, but i haven’t bought a webcam since 2015 at least. I got it cuz it was cheaper than the $50 dollar ones in store and HAD to be better than the one I own.
So I have mine. I got it to use facetracking for flight sims.
Does not work at all for that.
Camera itself seems ok if you like a blinding red and green light pointing at you. I personally don’t enjoy it.
I got this for two reasons. First, the camera on my macbook pro is off to the side because I mostly use my external monitor. Second, the built in camera is a potato. This has a much better image than the built in camera. Just one thing. Get some tape. That power LED will rip out your cornea and make your eyes bleed. Who thought it was a good idea to put a dog gone laser on this thing pointing straight at your eyeballs?

What laptop doesn’t have one built in?
@Kyser_Soze Many corporate laptops don’t. Security reasons.
@Kyser_Soze or the built in one on my laptop died, and my work desktop has none

@Kyser_Soze My camera is on the bottom of my laptop screen and gives a lovely view of my fingernails when I’m typing on my video calls

THESE ARE E-WASTE PLEASE DON’T BUY ONE! THEY HAVE 4 BIT COLOR AND FISHEYE!!!
@Hamhands Better than two-bit color

There is no way I am showing my fat covid lockdown face if I don’t have to.
