Epic Games freebies & sale.
6I should have mentioned this sooner, but Epic Games is giving away a game a day right now, instead of weekly. This runs through Jan 4th.
They’ve also got a 33% off anything over $15 “coupon” on top of any sale prices. I put it in quotes, because it’s automatic, and infinitely reusable during the sale.
As a taste of what may be in store, here are the expired freebies.
December 20: DNF Duel
December 21: Melvor Idle
December 22: Art of Rally
December 23: Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition
December 24: Ghostwire: Tokyo
December 25: The Outer Worlds
December 26: Human Resource Machine
December 27: Cursed to Golf
December 28: Cat Quest
December 29: Snakebird Complete
Snakebird is still available until tomorrow morning. (9am Mountain time.)

There are some clues in the wrapping paper for tomorrow’s freebie. Some are easy, some very obscure, and some folks have turned guessing the free game into a game itself.
My guess is a crossword type game tomorrow.
@blaineg I’d never bothered looking closely at the wrapping paper of the next day’s game… I probably still won’t, but at least it’s an interesting tidbit.
@xobzoo Saints Row. I couldn’t have been more wrong.
Aw man, I’m curious about Art of Rally but I never play games so I don’t pay attention to these. Oh well.
If you’re a cheapskate (like me), IsThereAnyDeal is a great site. If you create an account you can set price alerts on your watchlist.

ITAD tracks current best deals, as well as history.

Deku Deals does the same for Switch.

Pretty sure I missed the outer worlds even though I saw it on Slickdeals. And even though I did work before it expired. Lol.
That would have been the one to grab
The games they’ve given away already are probably better than what’s coming up.
Also, Epic Launcher. Euugh.
@pakopako I mean… Yeah. Regarding epic a little. Its clunky but better than it used to be.
I just login, get the free games, logout for the most part.
I only use it to play them.
That being said it’s more useable than it used to be, and if I didn’t have such a huge backlog of games from steam. And now their free ones. And I do mean huge. They have had some decent deals over the years I would have bought.
Since I’m mostly interested in single player they have no chance of getting me into a $60 launch title, it will be cheap in a year and I have better ones to play so… Ehh.
LFD2 and PD2 were fun back in the day when friends had a crew on our teamspeak server back in 2010. It’s been a while lol
@pakopako
I’ll fire up L4D2 once in a while but it’s mostly bot servers and over-modded game modes now. Was an absolute blast running with the squad for hours though!
I guess I should plug GOG Galaxy again. The launcher is ok, but what’s cool is the integrations with many other game stores, so you can see (most) of what you’ve got no matter where you bought it.
It’s not perfect, but it’s free, and miles ahead of anything else I’ve tried.
