It started raining this week for the first time since about March. And boy howdy did it rain. It was one of those where it’s so loud on the roof at work you can’t resist walking over to the window. It rained off and on for several days. Nice change. Everything smells clean after the wildfire smoke we’ve had.
It was 97° with a heat index of 104° today. My air conditioner can’t even keep up. But I do have blankets that’ll keep me warm when temperatures fall into the single digits outside, regardless of how my heater performs. Give me winter over summer any day.

We got married on a golf course (Hello Florida!) in the middle of November and it was 75 degrees and sunny Before we moved back to Maryland, I actually had to go to the outlets because for seven years, I owned no coats.
Freaking heat. Wearing a wet sheet with two fans blowing because of the heat, heat rash, heat headaches, heat rage, sitting in the freaking heat at someone’s unshaded formal wedding and getting heat fight-or-flight syndrome.

Yes because I don’t like hot and I refuse to live somewhere that gets extreme cold or a lot of snow.
So winter is usually pleasant.
