I used to. The exercise was great. Now, I only make watermelon sorbet because I only need a stick mixer, milk, a fridge, a spoon and a seedless watermelon!

I have one of those cuisinart ‘freeze the bowl in the freezer’ style makers that I use occasionally. Interestingly I made watermelon sorbet the last time I used it!
@mtbm33 I was dreaming of an ice cream maker and was shocked getting one with an IRK! For about a full summer I created some good ice creams but my chronic fatigue got the better of me and returned to buying from Aldi.
We involve the kid’s, cousins, grandkids, and neighbor kid’s and let them make it for us taking turns on the hand-crank churn. And’s when it’s ready, Who wants to lick the dasher?!!
As a kid we did the hand cranked kind. I owed one for a while and then sold it. I bought one of those electric small ones, I think on here. I gave that to a friend’s son who wanted one. Now I have an electric (hand crank kind - wood large container with the metal container inside) one that I haven’t used…
You see there is this thing called the ice cream section in the grocery store. I have a life long contract with nearby stores that I can enter and help myself to that ice cream buffet as long as I leave it in the container until I leave the store. The only catch is that every single time I do that I discover I have less cash in my pocket. Who knew?
I used to and every summer intend to make a batch. Then the summer somehow gets away from me. Also, I hear my doctor telling me that I need to lose a little weight and it discourages me from making my own ice cream. Somehow it does not discourage me from buying ice cream though.
We used to make it all the time. Not so much recently. Life has just been so hectic and my energy levels have been waning. I do love the idea of the cream with the soft serve but I don’t need another appliance or project.
I use a Cuisinart ice cream machine. It’s a self contained machine with built in compressor to freeze and a motorized paddle to churn the ice cream solution while it freezes and becomes ice cream.
I use liquid nitrogen
@mlbrink that is the Best way
I occasionally use those freezer bowls for homemade ice cream you sold a while back.
I have in the past w/ my parents, but now Both have gone to their Reward. I don’t want to make it just for me!
I use an ice cream maker. Simple, boring, delicious.
/showme simple, delicious ice cream without the boring
I used to but I sold my ice cream maker before I moved.
I used to make ice cream for my dog too. I had a paw shaped tray for it.
@kittykat9180
Good move. It probably would have gotten “very excited” if you ran it at 220v!
@chienfou
I could also hand crank out if I wanted to.

@chetayev wait, even sorbet needs milk??
I do, on special occasions. I have both a Cuisinart IC machine and a Ninja Creami. The Creami is great when I just want to make a pint.

Long time ago.
Ziplock bags using ice/salt.
I use the Cuisinart 2qt ice cream maker that showed up in an IRK a while back. And it’s red (not sure if Georgia red, though)!

1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
Mix thoroughly with hand mixer and freeze 4 or 5 hours.
