The 6 plus is gigantic. The size of the 6 is around the same size as the Nexus 5 and both of those are slightly smaller then the Galaxy S5. I have a Nexus 5 and it is difficult to get across the screen without using both hands, so it will be easier to use then that one. The resolution isn't as high on the 6, but most people won't care. Especially since you are using the 4, which will be a significant improvement.
No, I prefer the Android operating system. Not dogging on iOS, it's just what I prefer. I use Gmail, Google Docs, Drive and etc. so it seems like changing would take far too much effort as well. Congrats on your new phone, though. New gadgets are the best :D!!
@jenny Go for it! Provoke our envy at your awesome titles. :) Who wouldn't want to be The Dungeon Master? I used to be a Book Club Czar. Gotta say it was pretty sweet.
@jenny I'm a Deus Imperator. It was a title given to me by the Kingdom of Iron Mountain (Denver in the mundane world). When I die I get to become a minor Roman god. And I thought court politics in the medieval club were bad, just wait till I get to Olympus.
@jenny I hail from the Kingdom of the Burning Lands, in the desert south of the Iron Mountains. The honor was conveyed upon me as a guest of that fair kingdom. But I like broncos better than cowboys so I will support your hail of Broncos.
I'll upgrade at the end of the year when the stores actually have some in stock. Gonna install iOS 8 on my 4s, though. Hope it doesn't slow the crap out of it.
@marklog most phones now have 1080p screens around 5in. The NFC payments with Google Wallet has been around for years. Apple Pay isn't just NFC though, it is an entire system. So it (supposedly) is more secure then other NFC systems. There are arguments for both sides, but I still would prefer Android.
@marklog You could avoid all the agony and get what I have - a $10 flip phone with pay as you go $30 for 2 mo and 300 min… then no worries about which is better because you will win the meh phone award.
Will be ordering once the dust settles. Will probably have one by November. I'm not in a rush to upgrade.
I'm a big guy, so I like big things, so the iPhone 6 Plus is for me. Interested to see how the one hand operation works, since they baked it into iOS 8.
I preordered at 3am through Apple. Well, no I didn't since their store was down. Instead, I preordered around 3:30am or so via the iPad Apple Store app. iPhone 6, 64 GB, AT&T, space grey.
Hubby and I both have had a Samsung Note for a couple years now. We love them. He's planning on going to the Note 4 next month. The big size was a worry at first but we both quickly adapted. I have mine in a wallet case that I really do use as a wallet. Fits in my back pocket so I can shop and such without carrying a damn purse. Don't think I could ever go back to a small phone.
I just recently picked up a OnePlus so have no need for another phone for a long, long time. Also, the 5.5" screen is great. I don't find it too large at all.
I really want some hands-on time with them both in the store first. Though I'm already leaning on upgrading to a 6+. As I only seem to use it for about 5% actual talking, I won't be spending too much time looking silly with a small monitor attached to my ear.
@Cinoclav I like to play with a phone before buying one, too. I have not decided if I am going to upgrade to one of these or not. Current phone is doing the job and I need to take the time to research plans first. Ick.
My wife and I are using iPhone 4S's so we're going to look at the new ones. But we want to hold them in hand, try them out before deciding which model. Hopefully Magpul will make cases for them (they're the best for current models).
so... here I go digging up old articles to post on again...
I have had an interesting morning... I woke up... to fall asleep again to be woken up by the sound of a thud... then loud profanity from myself... yup... I fell asleep and broke my phone. Good news, I'm going to get the screen replaced on Saturday. Bad news It's going to cost me $130+tax+ a trip to Albany... So, probably 8 hour road trip and 310 miles on Saturday to get my screen replaced. (yes I could do mail in service but who wants to wait a week without a phone... plus my job likes me to have a cell phone but not enough to give me one.)

@The_Baron I hear that 6 is average....
@DaveInSoCal Common misconception, the worldwide average phone size is closer to 5 inches.
@JonT oh. Phones.

-The Dungeon Master
@jenny How many nicknames are you claiming?
@bluedyn Two...for now. A Bitter Woman and The Dungeon Master. As I said, I never had a nickname so I have to force them.
@jenny Go for it! Provoke our envy at your awesome titles. :) Who wouldn't want to be The Dungeon Master?
I used to be a Book Club Czar. Gotta say it was pretty sweet.
@bluedyn That does sound sweet. I hope it included a hat. Dungeon Masters and Czars should have hats!
@jenny You're so right! I don't have enough occasions to wear hats. That was a missed opportunity.
@jenny Just smush 'em together. A Bitter Dungeon Master Woman
@Thumperchick that's better than Bitter Dungeon Woman Master
@bluedyn Maybe Meh will have a hat exchange at some point. @Thumperchick That has a nice ring to it!
@jenny Or maybe we can just declare hat day, and have a reason to wear them.
@bluedyn I like it. What day of the month sounds hattiest?
@jenny I'm a Deus Imperator. It was a title given to me by the Kingdom of Iron Mountain (Denver in the mundane world). When I die I get to become a minor Roman god. And I thought court politics in the medieval club were bad, just wait till I get to Olympus.
@moondrake An honor to be in your presence Deus Imperator. I hail from the Kingdom of the Iron Foothills (Fort Collins).
@moondrake Also, I'm not sure how to say this in your native tongue..GO BRONCOS!
@jenny I hail from the Kingdom of the Burning Lands, in the desert south of the Iron Mountains. The honor was conveyed upon me as a guest of that fair kingdom. But I like broncos better than cowboys so I will support your hail of Broncos.
@jenny
@bluedyn That's a great hat. But the date is too far away. You should declare a secondary hat day for Meh sooner.
@jenny Australia has it on October 10. http://www.hatday.com.au We can celebrate theirs.
I'll probably wait a while, but I'm planning on upgrading from my regular 4 to a 6+ when I can just wander into a verizon store and do it.
I'll upgrade at the end of the year when the stores actually have some in stock. Gonna install iOS 8 on my 4s, though. Hope it doesn't slow the crap out of it.
@jsh139 http://gizmodo.com/dont-put-ios-8-on-your-iphone-4s-1635763610
@patti Damn, I was afraid of that :(
welcome to the flame war.

@The_Baron don't you dare attempt a logical and rational conversation. I will not have it.
@marklog iPhones, more like assholes! AMIRITE?!?
@marklog You could avoid all the agony and get what I have - a $10 flip phone with pay as you go $30 for 2 mo and 300 min… then no worries about which is better because you will win the meh phone award.
@The_Baron @marklog Yeah, everything from NFC down has been available on iPhones for a while now.
@marklog Cloud photo backup... hehehe

I'm a big guy, so I like big things, so the iPhone 6 Plus is for me. Interested to see how the one hand operation works, since they baked it into iOS 8.
Probably next year. I'm not thrilled about the bigger size. I don't like change.
I preordered at 3am through Apple. Well, no I didn't since their store was down. Instead, I preordered around 3:30am or so via the iPad Apple Store app. iPhone 6, 64 GB, AT&T, space grey.
@billchase2 Same but in silver for me through ATT instead.
@billchase2 Exact same for me. Like, exact. Well, maybe 3:45.

I'll be heading to the Apple Store in 8 hours to buy my new iPhone 6! Very nice! I like! Yagshemash!

Not sure why I suddenly turned into Borat...
LOL. The first guy at this store to get it immediately dropped it.
