I got one of these in a previous surprise box. It cooks pizza decently. The back gets hotter than the front, so you should expect some burning if you do anything bigger than personal size crusts. Still cooks better than my normal oven imo and hey it was basically free so I do use it.
@AaronLeeJohnson Can I ask who attempts to make a pizza if they don’t have experience making decent pizza?
Do wealthy people buy a brick outdoor oven and then just invite a bunch of people over and wing it?
I can make a damn decent pie for having a home oven that maxes out at 525. However, I used a preheated baking steel using Modernist Pizza 24-48 hour dough recipe, homemade sauce, and have a few years of experience at actual pizzerias.
Who is giving you these homemade bad pizzas? Frozen ones are cheap. Don’t go through the effort if you are making crap.
This device is legendary. The rough, unseasoned stone will grab onto your raw dough and lock it into place as you dump your toppings everywhere trying to get it free. Once you figure out you need to sand and season the stone, then you discover that if you don’t wait 30 min for the stone to heat up, your pizza comes out raw on the bottom and burnt on the top. This is the perfect gift for amnesiacs who have forgotten that they own an oven.
@chienfou I had grits on Sat. At a cafe in Louisiana. Recalled the scene in My Cousin Vinny re: instant grits, so I asked and they answered with pride that they made their own grits in house.
Can’t remember the last time I had grits anywhere. I digress.
Step 33. Ditch the losers and head back to the lake to find and gut the turtle. Retrieve the Diamond and fence it for a fraction of its true value but still enough to move to Aviano Italy and have a real pizza at the Caffe Gelateria.
Makes perfect pita bread in five minutes at 700°. There’s enough clearance between the stone and upper heating elements to balloon a perfect pocket and still safely remove the loaf without starting a fire (so long as the bread’s diameter is under about 10 inches).
@Simon_H care to share recipe please? I’ve attempted the ATK recipe twice. I get like 2 of the 8 discs to puff balloon style and I get so giddy when they do cuz 1) I mean totally adorable and 2) baking success! (I do eat all 8 discs just 6 are a bit more “chewy” than the 2 all stars!”

Finally! A deal that is appealing.
So It’s basically a 700F toaster oven with a fancy spatula?
@caffeineguy Ahhh, WTH, why not…

Peel & Cutter was a great show. Remember that time Peel acted like he knew the lyrics to a song but had no idea?
Pepperidge Farms remembers.

I friggin love pizza, guy.
Step 33?
@shahnm I came to ask about that too, and to say that step 32 might technically be optional but it’s still very important.
That’s been a feature of leftover pizza for many years now.

What’s step 33?
I might as well buy this. I’m always complaining about other people’s attempt at making pizza.
@AaronLeeJohnson Yeah, now you can blame the pizza oven …

@AaronLeeJohnson @KNmeh7 I like the Stouffer’s french bread pizza. That solves the pizza dough conundrum for me.
The Cuisinart seems like less of a pizza oven and more of an elongated toaster oven.

The high temp is critical…

@Michaelforman Just need a bit of flour on the bottom of the pie. I haven’t had a problem.
@Michaelforman Dust the stone with coarse corn meal.

I put down grits under my crust if I don’t have corn meal…

I have this oven. It works great. Takes a little while to heat up, but cooks a nice pie in 4-5 min.
Step 33. Ditch the losers and head back to the lake to find and gut the turtle. Retrieve the Diamond and fence it for a fraction of its true value but still enough to move to Aviano Italy and have a real pizza at the Caffe Gelateria.
I want one. I will buy one if someone buys me a house with a bigger kitchen.
