Complaining thread
3Christmas has come and gone and it sucked yet again. You didn't get anything you wanted. The things you did get you hate. And you're already dreading next Christmas even though it's a year away.
Well, this thread is just for you. Yell, scream, kick, moan and complain all you want to and pass the blame off on the one that caused it all in the first place, @TaRDy.
Oh, and if you're one of those jerks that got just what you wanted, go away. This thread isn't for you.

i got socks. i like the socks. they have fun colors. but, they're socks. they weren't expensive socks or anything either. so, i'm really not sure what thread this comment belongs in.
i also got an I.O.U. for walking dead, season 3.
@carl669 no socks for me this year..very sad about it. My hubby replenishes my stock of white cotton socks every year for Christmas ðŸ˜, but not this year...

Out of force of habit, ~61% battery, Sprint.
As for version, while notification bar is white, which is KitKat+, nav bar is Lollipop+. However, based on the fact that it's on screen, and the shapes are stock, it's a Nexus phone. As a result, I'm going to conclude that it's running 6.0.1.
I am a bit disturbed by the fact that the cell signal icon extends lower than battery icon, and that Wi-Fi icon is slightly smaller than the others.
@FroodyFrog just updated system software..dont like this version, lots of locking up and I want my home icon back! I believe I selected the menu colors. yes, sprint.. I never agree to their software terms :) not nexus, or 6.0.1.... I don't like any of the new icons.

Makes sense then, they'd be aligned if it was Nexus.
Now that you mention that you don't like the icons, and upon further inspection of nav bar (in that they're not thick), I'd assume LG...
The only problem is though, that that wouldn't match up with the notification bar...

I'm tempted to say trick question.
The notification bar icons are consistent with those on stock S3, however, the bottom hints at a theme.
In the event that it's themed, and your phone is rooted, you could technically be running any version ;)
Out of curiosity, is that version of tTorrent the full version or the free version? Also, what's that last icon? A screen recorder?
@FroodyFrog Yup, rooted Note 3 with Stealth theme pack. No tTorrent - icons are phone, text, app drawer, email, and Pale Moon browser.

It's similar to tTorrent, so...
The biggest clue that it was themed (besides for the bottom), was that 33.4% of phones which accessed Google servers as of Dec 7th were running pre-KitKat.
Based on things you've said in the past, and considering that it looked like it's your daily driver, i didn't think you'd be part of the 33.4%.
@FroodyFrog I absolutely hate material design so I refuse to "upgrade" or install any apps that don't let me theme them away from a white background and those awful gaudy colored bars at the top. I can't wait until I reach the 1%!

@mikibell @mehybe good news folks, I have my 401 in a row and 537 still in tact as of right now. For those of you playing at home, I have only missed 2 since day 0.
@mikibell I too have 500 clicks, just not so many in a row. Missed christmas eve, for example, - was playing the carillon before and after 3 church services and practiced that morning besides - too busy. The meh face eating bot got me several times...

I got a migraine on Christmas Eve and nothing for Christmas. Someone asked my husband how Christmas was.

@mikibell All of these years what I thought were sinus headaches turned out to most likely be migraine. Had my first aural migraine a few months ago. It was awesome as hell. Then the pain started.
@lisaviolet I had my first sparkle migraine about 1.5 hours from home..had no idea how I was going to get home. The adrenaline from that fear helped mitigate the pain, I think. Somedays I just want to chop off my head, but I think that might frighten the kids :)
I still haven't opened my silhouette :( kids gave me a cold for Christmas. I was hoping to get to play with my new toy this week.

I got a robot and some accessories. Which is awesome. Except Amazon screwed up and sent me some accessories and some accessories. And now they say they're all out of robots, so all we can get is a refund. Merry Christmas to you too, Amazon!

I got a couple of used books, a used yellow rubber duck, a used coffee mug printed with flamingos, and a used Lladro bell, NIB. Not as bad as it sounds; one friend and I exchange Christmas boxes and the rules are that most items MUST be secondhand, from a thrift store/yard sale. About 20 years ago I taught her how to do yard sales and thrift stores, and how to negotiate prices. It was a cultural epiphany to a 55 year old New England lady. We used to start at 7 AM on Saturday and plot 10-15 sales on a map. Once we encountered a going-out-of-business sale at an interior decorating firm, and bought about 30 cubic feet of miscellaneous upholstery fabric and trims for $15. Hey, you have your idea of fun, I have mine. Anyway, I got a bunch of used stuff, so that qualifies.

I'll complain for my mom, dad and brother.
Dad's been in bands since before any of his kids were thought of. My brother has been a drummer since early childhood and was in a fairly successful local classic rock band from junior high all the way up until they all had to get jobs and be adults - which pulled them in different directions. This bg is to tell you - my family LOVES music. Classic Rock, Southern Rock, Singer Songwriter stuff has a special place in that sphere.
So when my mom saw back in September that The Who were playing locally and the nosebleed seats were affordable, she jumped on it for them! The perfect Christmas gift! She bought the tickets, gave them to Dad and brother Christmas morning and they came out of their damn chairs with excitement! Whole family was just, stoked for them!
Until they looked at the date on the tickets. Mom thought she'd gotten them tickets to a show in Sept 2016. She mistakenly got them tickets for Sept 2015. 3 months prior.
Dad & Bro took it really well - they're mellow dudes and they thought it was super awesome that she tried to do this wonderful thing for them. Mom took it hard. Took them a while to coax her back out and to enjoy the rest of the day with the family.
I wasn't even there and I still feel for her. I couldn't imagine a simple mistake causing so much joy followed by so much suck, all in the span of a few minutes.
BTW - I couldn't stand it and found and got them tickets for The Who in May of 2016 and sent them to my mom. Mom got to give them the show she wanted to give them. It just sucks that the original ticket cost had to be eaten to do it.
She still feels terrible, though.

@Thumperchick Some people (like myself) actually enjoy when things go wrong.
Others have it alot worse than I but since I was laid off my job in December 4, I didn't buy anything for spouse or he for me . Furthermore, my birthday was December 20 so told spouse not to buy birthday gift for me either --so my birthday was meh for sure . Top it all off, found out I have skin cancer and will have to have additional tissue removed from my arm in January. Add to that , all the car problems we have had this month and we also found out our travel trailer evidently has a leak somewhere in it so trailer is in shop for repairs.
In addition, my mother is in isolation now, as she developed a mersa staph infection and will be isolated for 2 weeks . Then my mother in law has been having health issues too. For the past two days, we have gone over to her house to help her because she has felt like fainting and has a lot of pain In both of her hands and arms. (I drove her to see the dr. today). My Daughter and her family left for Ok today so we are keeping their Minature schnauzer for them while they are gone. Bentley was sick so I took him to our veterinarian and the veterinarian put him on a lot of medications , including pain meds and a probiotic.
This topped off my December month so far---not really complaining as I KNOW things could always be worse but just a little down right now .. So appreciate your prayers for my family and I as we could use some good news around our house.
@AttyVette btw Bentkey is 14 years old and veterinarian said he has a bad disc in his back and an upset GI tract.

@heartbleed Yeah, I miss my mom and dad. He died in 1987, she died in 2008. I got squat for Christmas, too, but I'm used to it by now. I guess you could say I got what I expected.
No siblings, no local friends (my choice, people wear me out), husband's family has never been big on holidays.
But, hey, I woke up! -laughing-
Oh, yeah, and today's my 30th wedding anniversary. We had the value breakfast slams at Denny's in celebration.
I got wonderful presents from my family. But for the past year I've been fervently whispering (at 11:11, on shooting stars, on eyelashes, dandelion fluff, single car headlights, found pennies, cat whiskers, fountains, etc) "I wish that by Christmas I will have a proper job that pays the bills and makes me happy."
I interviewed for such a job the week before last and haven't heard anything since. So happy Christmas, fuck you wishes.
Guess it's time to start wishing for next Christmas.
@HELLOALICE Here's wishing the delay is only because everybody took this week off, and Monday they'll get it in gear and process you as a new employee.
I might get into low income housing (325 sq foot apt - yikes it is small) by Feb except I have done the math over and over and still don't think I have enough money to pay for even low income rent (health insurance takes it all which I have to have due to 3 cancers, one of which has no cure, no medicaid expansion in this state) and my boss told me they just hired a 4th person so it will be unlikely I will get any more extra courses to teach... @tardy this is all your fault for at least the next few hours!!! Like several others I need a full time job with benefits.
