It is 24" tall and 16" wide at top, but the specs don’t mention how thick–not wide–at the bottom. Any comment on this critical, to me, aspect of these soft AF pillowinesses?
@baqui63 Since meh has not seen fit to send me a tape measure ( https://meh.com/forum/topics/tape-measures ), I had to eyeball it and I concur with @heartny at about 10". Then again, I have been told I tend to overestimate dimensions in the 6" to 10" range. Even more so with something soft AF.
@ybmuG Sure, it works this way: small home, big AF pillow consumes more space taking over what little you had - kind of like the blob; normal/big home, little or no impact by big AF pillow.

Thanks!
Also, IMHO, the confusion here likely stems, at least in part, in the difference between absolute big AFness and relative big AFness. Of course it may just be that this joke is both relatively and absolutely not funny.
@baqui63 It’s a little hard to measure, as the back and front are rounded when the big AF pillow is flipped over, but I’d say about 10"-ish. The big AF arms extend out about 19"-ish from back to front. If that makes sense.
Are these the same ones that sold out during the last Mehrathon? If so, these are pretty nice, and can be used in bed or on a (large) sofa. Ya got me this time…

@TheTwizz You could probably fit a can of soda in the side pocket, or make a small Bluetooth speaker if you so desire. But alas, it does not come with either.
I’m trying to think if this would help me with my professed goal to sleep better. Or really just sleep. In that maybe I could stop watching tv an hour or two before bed and read or something… which I haven’t done in a decade and a half.
But I have two queen memory foam mattress in boxes still that were $45. Seems expensive for a pillow…
Perusing the Amazon reviews, as I often do, this pillow gets 79% positive scores. Discounting the usual myriad of fake reviews, that’s kinda low. People said it was too “hard” and uncomfortable, which matches my experience with chopped memory foam. I have a leg-support pillow ($5 at Costco a couple years ago) made of this, and it’s lumpy & hard- fit only for using under my knees while sleeping.
At this price-point, I would definitely want to examine the pillow in person beforehand. Now, if it were about half the offered price, I’d say ‘what the heck’ and get one…
I got one of these the last time they had them for my husband and he likes it, has no complaints (which is great, he’s one of those people who can find something negative about just anything).
So, if you want to wash cover, you have to remove 5-1/2 pounds of shredded memory foam… wash and then restuff it? Have you ever done this? Argh! No, thanx!
@nigebirch And I learned the hard way how washing memory foam basically kills it. It then smushes about flat and becomes really soft. Maybe the memory foam is in a cloth capsule inside?
Bought a couple of size of these a while back, can’t remember if it was Meh or Woot. Nice idea, but it just didn’t work. They’re way too thick to use on a chair or couch, you wind up on the edge of your seat, but without the excitement. And they were too bulky and clumsy to use in bed.
I got one for Christmas and I love it for propping up against the couch when I want to sit on the floor (when the dog has overtaken the couch). I just had a medical thing done and it’s been pretty sweet to support my back sitting up in bed. I wouldn’t buy two, but I’m happy with my one.
I’m not really happy with this pillow. Hard as a rock ! Not sure about the ‘odor”. My Dachshund wants to rip it to shreds. I put it on the the back porch to air out. Would return it - just not worth the aggravation. I cannot compress it to the size it arrived in.
@crazyunclekenny I just got mine, and yes, there’s a not-altogether-pleasant smell. It seems to be in the cloth body under the cover, not in the cover, so just washing the cover won’t fix it. Anybody know if this will go away if left to air out?
@crazyunclekenny@tonylegrone I found some reviews on Amazon that suggested leaving it to air out for 4-5 days and/or washing the cover make the smell go away. I took the cover off and put mine out in the garage the day it was delivered and plan to bring it back in and wash the cover after it’s had a week.
@crazyunclekenny@kensey yeah it’s pretty strong. My other memory foam pillow smelled like that when new. I ended up putting dryer sheets in my pillow case and eventually it went away.mine just came in today so was looking for I’d anyo e else smelled weird and remembered the smell of my old one from Costco. Same as my memory foam mattress from Amazon too.
I love it! Finally a pillow tall enough to use on the bed and keep my head supported. It is a bit large when you take it off the bed to sleep, but it supports me very nicely.

@1DisabledWarVet lol… wood…
What a way to bolster my reputation!
is this good?
@boygenius1991 Probably only meh at best.
I like the one I got last time it was offered.
Hi @ThunderChicken
It is 24" tall and 16" wide at top, but the specs don’t mention how thick–not wide–at the bottom. Any comment on this critical, to me, aspect of these soft AF pillowinesses?
Thanks!

@baqui63 @heartny @ThunderChicken, mine is only 9", so,…I know it’s small, ergo, dats why I have a Stingray!!
PURPLE!!!
Does it stand up on its own or does it have to be propped up on the wall or something?
@Davidtrippy Stands on its own.
@Davidtrippy, Yes on the wall, If You Don’t Have A Backboard Attached To Your Bed, Pendejo!!
I bought one during the Mehrathon. Not only is it soft AF, it’s also big AF, especially if you have a small home.
@heartny And Fluffy?
@heartny so size is dependent upon the space it is kept in? What is this sorcery?
@EthelTheFrog It’s actually kind of lumpy, but squishy lumps nonetheless.
@ybmuG Sure, it works this way: small home, big AF pillow consumes more space taking over what little you had - kind of like the blob; normal/big home, little or no impact by big AF pillow.
Hi @heartny.
Hope all is well with your and yours.

@heartny
Ok, I can see that

@heartny, it does; thank you.
@heartny, I had one & after a couple of years it col-fn-lapsed!! Planned Obsolescence, plane & simple!!
Got these for my girls for Christmas, they’re nice! Throw them in the dryer on no heat for 5 minutes when you get them, works great!
I made a joke about how these looked like a walrus the last time these were for sale. Apparently Meh has a very high tolerance for verbal abuse.

@cbl_wv It has to be on a separate line.

@yakkoTDI Thanks, I knew I was forgetting some damned thing!
A husband? Really?
Lol. I just bought one of these at amazon today. I think I will buy this one and return the amazon one. Lol
That clicky face looks kind of … rude.
What? No cup holder? No bluetooth speaker? Psssh, I’ll pass.
@TheTwizz You could probably fit a can of soda in the side pocket, or make a small Bluetooth speaker if you so desire. But alas, it does not come with either.
OH MY GOD THEY… UM… GLEN!!!

why do I want one of these. I need to get outside and talk to people

My husband was asking for a husband the other day. Was meh listening? Hmmmm

@nigebirch it’s in its own sack in it, not just loose.
@Kidsandliz @nigebirch yep. In its own sack within the cover.

@crazyunclekenny @kensey same smell issue with mine. These are brand new? Aren’t they?
