I have been a tvaholic since I got my first pair of glasses when I was 9. I never knew why people could sit and watch it so much until the fuzziness went away, then I was fascinated and hooked. It’s still my favorite past time. I must watch about 50-75 television shows/series throughout the year. All across the streaming services and we have an antenna to catch local news. I was a champ during covid, watched some old series from the 70s and 80s and 90s. Living my dream. I’m 69 now and love it.
I’m going to keep on walking/hiking/biking as long as I’m able. So much of this country (& others) to see/experience, I don’t get why anyone would want to sit & watch a screen 90% of their waking hours. I just wish it were more affordable to travel, because that holds me back to one/two “major” trips per year. (Hawaii is on the docket in November for me! First time that far away from home!) Fortunately lots to see in the region I live: ND, MN, SD, Manitoba, Ontario all relatively easy drives for me.
@ironcheftoni Not bad. Some of the tiles are a bit off, but at least the words on the cup, wall art and player names all look to be spelled correctly and there aren’t any 6 fingered grandmas. The scores are a little sus though.
@rcwbbb
In my early 20s I worked at a day program for seniors and once a week we’d take them to a senior nutrition center for lunch. It was by donation but our staff and clients always paid the recommended donation.
It was sad to see the seniors who were poor and couldn’t donate and that was their only meal for the day.
@Thumperchick Well… you do have mad skills I don’t think it’s a hobby for you, more of an expression of passion. The wallet you sent my daughter is incredible and is already packed for college… she moves in in two weeks. Yikes!
@capnjb I love it when my creations get used in everyday life. I should update that topic with some of the latest makes. There’s a particular NSFW one I think would make a few folks cringe and that makes me wanna share it more.
@capnjb Already updated. I shared a link to imgur for that make instead. It’s mild compared to some stuff we’ve shared here over the years, but I want folks to have the option to opt-in.
Restoring my old car. Going to the range to shoot targets and clay pigeons. Making bread from scratch. Making book nooks in the evening. Catching up on a stack of books to read that has been building for years, and re-reading books I loved from the past. All the things that full time plus work that eats evenings and weekends, and illannoy assholery has pushed to the side for 40+ years.
@kuoh True enough, though given the likelihood of AI hallucinations I’m not sure it would help. I’ve been wanting to finally get to work on it for real for 25 years but stuff kept happening.
Hey, I’m not an old person! I just really like trains.

@rcwbbb I’ve heard of metaphorically “eating the scenery”, but…

@Thumperchick Do keep sharing your craftsmanship. It’s wonderful to follow the bouncing ball.
And even though this entire website is pretty much NSFW, be wise when sharing pictures. There are things that can’t be unseen
