I always find store cookies in particular to be disappointing. There’s just nos substitute for a really good freshly baked homemade cookie.

I’d be very surprised if the grocery store is making the dough in house for the bakery cookies, more likely just buying by the case from, say https://www.webstaurantstore.com/56497/frozen-cookie-dough.html . I’m fairly sure that a great many bagels (even from mid-range bagel stores), french breads, etc. etc. follow the same pattern, mostly because the frozen, cook-in-store products are usually really good. If you’re buying bread products from a store and not air-frying them to reheat before eating you should really give it a try. I resisted buying an air fryer for the longest time, figuring the oven would work as well. Finally succumbed many Meh’s ago buying the Ninja air-fryer, pressure-cooker combo. It gets pretty much daily use.
