Sites like this are mostly for "deals", but it seems like most of you just want to pay $5 for a mystery item....hoping you get a flat screen tv or some other expensive shit.
It may be a good deal but I agree with @ekw $5 is coffee and a bagel range and I can drop that without thinking to hard. But something in the multiple hundreds needs to be budgeted for.
@jzmacdaddy if i really wanted a drone I would have already bought one on amazon for $15 more. Most people that want a drone already have one - thus the reason YOU'RE not buying one. For the rest of us, we're more than happy with our $15 helicoptors.
@march5th00 The Amazon link points to one for $350 plus tax. The one for sale here is $315, no tax. Granted, I'm only a bookkeeper, not a full-on CPA, but from my (likely inaccurate) calculations... that's a delta of $35, not $15. Then there's the matter of sales tax Amazon collects, for a net difference of around $65 give or take. Or have a missed something?
@ruouttaurmind ?? A lot of states including mine have no tax on amazon. Also meh costs $5 to ship. Free shipping no tax on ebay as well as several have pointed out. But yeah $30 instead of $15. I was more making a point than giving purchasing advice so didnt go back and check my 5% error. Consider me well scolded now.
@joelmw it took me a while to figure out that you were going with an Irk-style pronunciation of the username there and until I did I was confused and disturbed.
@ACraigL Had I actually spent a good bit of time looking at purchasing a quad coptor, or alternatively, if I were rich and didn't want to think about buying a high-end quad-coptor, this would be a great meh. Be it that I've never given purchasing a quad-coptor serious thought, it is interesting to at least see this price point. Considering that I've given some serious thought to making a Rep Rap, I'd probably buy a meh priced 3d printer.
Eh, I like Meh's current mix. Most stuff is more or less an impulse buy in the 10-30ish range, with the occasional really cheap or really expensive thing to keep it interesting. Good job, thumbs up, wouldn't change a thing.
I think with this being a holiday weekend, they are using higher end stuff (like Denon b/t or $315 drones) keeps the processing numbers low so that they can keep a skeleton crew around.
@pmulry@2luvche21 It still begs the question of exactly what their profit is on this item. I'm always curious to know what their profit is by percentage of selling price. Did they make $5 per copter, netting them $1295 (currently) but $1 on the Eclipse bluetooth speakers netting them $1316? Yes, I realize these numbers are not realistic but it would be interesting to know if they're more profitable with quantity over quality.
Are there just a bunch of cheap bastards on this site? $315 for a $500 drone is a hell of a deal. I'd buy it if I didnt already have one.
@jzmacdaddy But $315 for a $500 drone is friggin expensive for something you don't give a shit about.
@ACraigL exactly. I try to restrict my three figure purchases for stuff I actually want or need. has to be

@jzmacdaddy .... or just deals in the $1-40 range instead. I agree, unless I was already in the market for a drone there's no reason I would buy this.
@jzmacdaddy Most of me? Put some tools, or electronica up there and I'm all in. Dronin' just ain't my thing.

@march5th00 Can you point me to the DJI Phantom on Amazon for $15 more? (plus tax of course)
@ACraigL Like that old proverb, "An elephant for a nickel is a great deal, but only if you have a nickel, and only if you want an elephant."
@ruouttaurmind meh pointed to it actually just follow the price comparison link.

@ruouttaurmind? Meh charges me sales tax on everything. Even VMP membership.
@nadroj I guess not everything about living in the great state of Texas is all yellow roses and Longhorns.
@jzmacdaddy Well, jizz-mah-c-daddy, fuck you too. You got a problem with cheap bastards?
@joelmw it took me a while to figure out that you were going with an Irk-style pronunciation of the username there and until I did I was confused and disturbed.
@JonT Well, yeah. I thought that's how we did here. But "confused and disturbed" works too.

@Starblind Exactly! The impulse buy range is the bread & butter of*meh.*
Unless Meh sells exactly the items I want for exactly the price I want to pay, I won't be satisfied.

@dsantillan it's cute you still think they ship orders the same day.
I didn't buy one so there's an extra available if @jzmacdaddy wants two. I'm just nice that way. :D
I think they're doing pretty damn well actually!
I'd love to have a "bad" sales day that grosses $70k+
@pmulry Exactly. Sometimes more than 10X higher than other sales. Plus, it's the highest grossing sale this month so far!
