@shahnm love the cold! Heaters are easy or even a nice fire. A/C was loud and annoying and the “Hot” part of the house in Summer could never get cool enough. I welcome the cold. If it’s bad weather like snow (rarely) in Winter I really don’t need to drive anywhere. Or Amazon will drive stuff to me. (Not sure if I should be proud of that)
@tweezak I don’t know if I am empowered to tell you that the depression is OK, but here goes.
I went through a lonely time that bordered on depressing. So I jumped in a camper in the driveway and started doing 2500 mi cross-country trips in the middle of Winter. I had a few friends on the other end, plus at the time I had a companion cat. One of my favorite images of both beauty and loneliness:
The emptiness helped clear my head over several journeys. I am here. I am me. I am OK.
Early Autumn is my favourite time of the year, perfect temperature (not too hot but not too cold), perfect scenery (pretty colours, foggy mornings, not too much sunlight but it’s not all dark yet), I love it all
I’m looking forward to cooler temps. Don’t expect my first frost till as least late November/mid-December so the garden is still producing. Flowers and plants will continue pretty much throughout a lot of the winter.
OTOH we are headed to the Berkshires with friends in 2 weeks for a spot of fall color and markedly cooler temps than central Alabama currently.
Mrs. H. & I are taking a (well deserved) 10-day vacation to upstate New York in October, so YES(!!!) I am looking forward to Fall!! From Niagara Falls to the Finger Lakes, then up to Syracuse & finally over to Schenectady. We’ll use it as a base to attack the Adirondack region. Leaving from Albany. Definitely a lot of sites to see, National & State parks, waterfalls, good food, good wine, and just a recharge from the grind that this year has brought us…
Only when I am not looking back at fall.
No. Because cold.

@pmarin
Love the cooler temperatures. Pumpkin bread and pumpkin pie cake… What’s not to like?
Yes because bugs die or retreat.
No because darkness happens.
@heartny Yes, I get sad when the sun starts going down early.
@heartny dark at 4 PM is the worst part about winter.
Yes. Cooler weather.
Yes because I’ll feel like I have more of a reason for feeling depressed.

I don’t give a crap about falling leaves but am sure looking forward to falling temperatures.
Yes, because it’s too d*mn hot!
Aaaah, fall in Texas where the temperature highs are in the 80s instead of the 90s and 100s!
I love running in brisk temperatures. My preferred range is 40- 53° with a lower limit of 28° and upper limit of 70°.

Oh my… optimistic aren’t we??
So sparkling clear outside, day or night.
Best time of year to appreciate…nearly everything.
That means cooler temps are only three months away and summer will finally be over.
Goodness, yes! I cannot wait for the temps to drop and hopefully enjoy somw cold drizzly days! Bring it on.
