All you need for the New Year is Irk
15Now that my house is filled to overflowing with the bounty of joy that is Irk’s contribution to the world, it’s time for him to move on. He was born under a wandering star, he’s the last of the Wild Things, and Krampus is in his heart. He needs a new home. Post why you think he should come to your house, and you too could enjoy the sweet madness.
This is a contest for possession of Irk’s metallic aspect, which jumped out of a recent Fuku at me. As a bonus, his inplushation interpretation, created by the incomparable @sammydog01, will accompany him. You know you want him… Irk Irk

That was my dad’s nickname from my mom…(shortened version of our last name) so everytime I hear Irk mentioned, it makes me laugh. Of course, I always thought it was short for Irksome, which is also applicable!

Several years before I came to Meh, I used to refer to certain people on a certain site as Irks because they were irksome.

@mikibell At no point did you say ‘do not send a flamingo’. You also didn’t say ‘do not send a flying monkey with cape and hat’. You also didn’t say ‘don’t send Texas air’. I just didn’t want Irk to be lonely.

@lysdexia oh goodness, no…kids are hard enough. Plants and pets would nor do well in my care!
@mikibell There are no plants in the box. The flamingo is very small. There is some styrofoam, because the letters are surprisingly noisy on their own. Further, affiant sayeth naught.

There was the flamingo, a woot monkey, a martian notifier watch, a headlamp, a dangly thing (not sure if it is a bracelet or not?) a quadcopter, a tablet!, a mini ipad case/keyboard, MORE bacon bowls, a magic led bulb, a derringer, mardi gras beads…and BEST of all a meh hockey puck. I haven’t gotten a fuku/o with one, and I didn’t want to whine, but I REALLY wanted one

Also, just by looking at the portion of the tablet box which is showing, I can tell it’s an older one.
Google hasn’t used that icon of the Play Store since late 2014.
If it was running an old version of Android but came out after 2014, it wouldn’t have Google Services.
And even besides that, it would still have a newer icon.
Curious about the specs.

@OldCatLady they can’t figure out why I am not breathing well, so I get to have a vq test tomorrow. No crossing international borders tomorrow! Do they scan at airports for radioactivity? That would be cool!

@PlacidPenguin That’s the one; it has KitKat. http://www.nuvision.com/nuvision-tm785m3-tablet/ When it arrived in a fuku, it was registered to someone in Mexico, so I did a factory reset and sent it along with Irk. @mikibell, I just found one of its cables that didn’t get into the box, but they’re standard issue so you probably have others. Please get well. I’m glad your doctor is on the ball.

@mikibell My parents went to Canada on a seniors’ trip and the Canadians came on the bus with a Geiger counter at the border. One person came up mildly radioactive from a test. They let the geezers into the country- I guess they are frequently radioactive. Feel better.
@sammydog01 a friend lives in Vermont, verrrry close to the Canadian border. We took a wrong turn and didn’t quiiite leave the US, but just in case we stopped at our border area when I finally got the courage to put the car (standard, facing downhill) in reverse and turn around. They had scanners…that was weird. Hubby pointed them out. The border guard was very nice and didn’t hassle my husband for not having a passport

@ELUNO No, no, @sammydog01 created the plushie Irk. The metal version came from someone’s twisted imagination at meh HQ. The psychic entity known as Irk operates on his own wavelength and has never been fully documented.

@PlacidPenguin children even of twisted unnatural relationships get a combo of their parents. Irk clearly has glenns teeth. He has matthews sense of the absurd. Irk has matthews arm and voice. Glenns skin texture has passed down. Ect…
