Kisses for you Tinamarie! I’ve been looking all over for places that sell extra wide width shoes! (one’s that I like that is) I have super wide feet and woman’s shoes/sneakers don’t usually fit. For that reason cowboy boots had always been my go to. Barefoot is/WAS my favorite but now that I need a 1.5" lift on one side, shoes are pretty much a necessity. (I met this guy who ended up with the same issue after his hip fusion, he had his surgeon cut a couple inches off his other leg to make up for the difference) My regular shoe store hasn’t been able to get mine in stock, they’ve been on backorder for over 6 months. Manufacturers can’t get the materials is what I’m being told.
This place has about 5 excellent choices and they’re all in my cart! Lol Now I have to choose just one pair, that alone could take days! …and pray that they’ll fit.
I don’t think their prices are too too high. I’m pretty happy with anything under $150 for sneakers or shoes, boots I’ll go up to $300. Then I have to pay $150-200 for the lift, footwear is definitely a investment for me these days. At $300 to $500 a shot they cost as much as a mini vacation! vs
I’m very excited about checking out Walking Cradles. Thanks for the recommendation, I always check 6pm.com for a lot of the more pricey brands I like. Sometimes they have some overstock there. Looks like they have just a little… https://www.6pm.com/b/walking-cradles/brand/622
I recently got some crocs thong flip flops (so made out of the croc material, but they just look like flip flops instead?) and those have been really comfortable imo. So for some of you that have sizing issues with these, I really recommend those. (Like these sandals technically carry my size in 11, but I’m betting they’re gonna be a little too narrow. I don’t have to have a wide depending on brand, but… I don’t know this brand. And when I don’t know a brand, I often go with men’s shoes since the size is a little wider for their normal ones…)
@Lynnerizer@werehatrack I really hope you like them!!! I think they are very well made shoes, and as someone mentioned below sometimes you can find last years models on 6pm.com a little cheaper.
They also have a loyalty program where you can earn discounts and if you sign up for an account periodically throughout the year they will send coupons
I have been somehow linked to this company since I started working. They were my customer at my first job out of college and I arranged the importation of the leather from Italy to China for mfg, and then the importation from China to the US w customs clearance. A few years ago (unrelated) I ended up being one of their “real women” models. I have done work in their catalogs and participated in one of their fashion shows. It was loads of fun and I was paid in FREE SHOES!!!
I too am looking to replace my best and most comfortable flip flops ever, a pair of Airwalks from the 2000s that have finally collapsed. And apparently, Airwalk doesn’t make them any more.
All the kids seem to be wearing pool slides now, not flip flops.
@airmo@narfcake@ongware personal experience says it is. I wear a woman’s size 8, but have more than once bought a pair of chuck Taylor’s 2 sizes too big because I accidentally grabbed a mens size 8 (which is a size 10 in women’s).
So if you wear a size 10.5 in mens shoes, a woman’s size 12-12.5 would fit. However, women’s shoes do tend to run a little more narrow than mens, so your mileage my vary
@airmo@jakeline@narfcake@ongware
Yes, I agree! I have to wear men’s sneakers because I need the extra wide width. I take a 8.5 in women’s shoes and a 6.5 to 7 in men’s/boys.
@narfcake@ongware, are you sure you didn’t mean +1.5"? I ask because I found some Western Boots & a pair of hiking boots & they were a female size 6/maybe a 6.5 & they fit me perfect, but I wear size 5.5 male , [or boys]. Yes, I have little feets [as Richard Pryor called them], but I’m a little man of 5’3" & 128 to 131 Lbs, so…& yes, I compensate by owning a corvette to make up for my P#%+s size. It’s All n accordance with the stand-ard Macho Man tradition, so
If I learned anything from Married with Children it is that women want to have a smaller shoe size and I just can’t see the fashion industry saying, “F-IT! Women get bigger shoe sizes then men…”
@1DisabledWarVet, you went the little ween needs a vette route? It seems like most men that suffer from your condition go with the big raised trucks. I’m happy to hear your wallet takes up the most room in your pants.
@narfcake@ongware for me, going to male shoes means I go down one size. I wear a woman’s wide size 5 which is hard to find in hiking boots, so I buy a boy’s size 4 and they fit just great
@jakeline
Lucky you, fun in the sun!
Yesterday was the first day I had to bundle up with my heavy coat. Biv, chilly cold! I’m not a fan of the cold weather, i’m allergic! I actually get hives from it!
@jakeline@Lynnerizer, so where do you live, North Dakota¿? Why not move to Cal, Cancun, or Honolulu? I’m just a bit curious, so, Please, don’t be offended!! Nonetheless, if fen ya do, den I apologize,…My Bad!!
However, thanks to @Tinamarie for the link to walkingcradles. They have both small sizes and wide sizes! And through walkingcradles, I found a semi-local store that carries all kinds of wide shoes!
@GrandmaLyn, that’s funny, I had a cell phone in 1997, and maybe before that & my boss had a green one that looked like a Military Walki-Talki dat came out before my Motorola!!
True story.
A friend was a sheriff for a small county in Indiana. He ordered thongs for inmates to use when showering. Ordered off a list w/ no pictures, just a text list [Thongs (men) L].
He was surprised when they opened the box and found underwear.
They were returned.
I got the original style on Woot this summer. They’re actually pretty great! I wear a 7 or 7.5 shoe and bought an 8, which I think was correct. They’re sturdy, comfortable shoes, and they wash off pretty easy, so they’re a good choice for the beach.
When the weather turns chilly I just add seasonal socks and wear my Birkenstocks year round. I have shoes for rainy days, boots for snow but mostly sandals year round. These look like they have good arch support so I might try.
I may have to get these. I wear sandals always. Well, at least around the house. If it’s snowing, toe socks and sandals. Yes I’m weird. It has been established.

@pmarin Hey Now!

I need size 13. Rats.
@werehatrack
Not that it really matters, I see that they have arch supports. My feet do not like arch supports.
@werehatrack check out this company they have your size. Little pricy but the shoes are great quality

@werehatrack, if you’re a woman you have mighty big feet, ‘Big Foot’,…excuse me, I mean, ‘Madam Big Foot’!!
@Lynnerizer @tinamarie1974 @werehatrack Hitchcock Wide Shoes - Online. A lifesaver!
@1DisabledWarVet @werehatrack actually lots of women wear extended sizes these days
@Lynnerizer @werehatrack I really hope you like them!!! I think they are very well made shoes, and as someone mentioned below sometimes you can find last years models on 6pm.com a little cheaper.

@werehatrack I don’t think I’ve ever seen rats larger than size 12.
/giphy gaudy-possessive-potluck
Just in time for the 3-foot snow drifts. Yay.
This is exactly what I need. In men’s styles. Apparently this brand is women only. What’s the men’s equivalent?
@ongware Women’s size minus 1.5 equals approximate men’s size.
@narfcake @ongware that can’t be right
@narfcake @ongware They’re still in a ladies style.
I too am looking to replace my best and most comfortable flip flops ever, a pair of Airwalks from the 2000s that have finally collapsed. And apparently, Airwalk doesn’t make them any more.
All the kids seem to be wearing pool slides now, not flip flops.

I can’t stand those pool slide sandals! They remind me of the shower shoes they sell at commissary in prisons.

@1DisabledWarVet @narfcake @ongware that’s what I was thinking. +1.5.
@ongware my husband HATES thong sandals but they’re useful for certain things. The only ones he will wear are Tevas.
@1DisabledWarVet @airmo Nope – minus. I was noting from women’s size to men’s size.
If going the other way – from men’s size to women’s size – then it’s add 1.5.
@narfcake @ongware for me, going to male shoes means I go down one size. I wear a woman’s wide size 5 which is hard to find in hiking boots, so I buy a boy’s size 4 and they fit just great
Hey, it was 90 degrees today in SoCal, so the timing seems pretty good to me ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Those dagger toenails are really awful.
Not in my size. : (
However, thanks to @Tinamarie for the link to walkingcradles. They have both small sizes and wide sizes! And through walkingcradles, I found a semi-local store that carries all kinds of wide shoes!
@cf1, so i take it you have wide feet, or you just like to say the word, ‘Wide’!?
@1DisabledWarVet Wide sounds funny when you say it a lot… And my feet are wide.
