A note on these. They are light weight, and easy to store. BUT they are not intended to hold constant water pressure. After 2 weeks mine spring a leak on the inner liner.
Perfect for an RV or Boat. But if you plan on replacing your outdoor hoses, you are better off getting a more durable traditional hose.
For two decent multi-pattern hose nozzles, $25 is decent but hardly amazing. As for the hoses, my experience with this type is exactly the same as @scatmann69’s. The thing to understand is that they are designed to be used and then put away. If you leave any of these expanding hoses pressurized for hours at a time, and particularly if they’re laying on the ground in full sun, they will very quickly fail.
I was interested in this item, but as I perused the images, saw the invitation to guess (and discuss; any question is an invitation to discuss) this important work, more importantly reinterpreted by Saint William of Blake.
So I got a 2-pack of the black and orange ones from like a year ago or something and they both failed within a few months (sprung a leak). Having said that, I abused these by keeping them connected to the line 100% of the time (valve about 30-50% open, not full pressure but not nothing). The valve is located somewhere inconvenient so I just hang this up for gardening purposes—definitely not “best practice” under ideal circumstances, but CERTAINLY not the best idea with these weird expanding hoses. But the situation is what it is, so I make it work.
The GF got 2 more of these blue & white ones because we’re in a sort of temporary situation with odd circumstances where this it’s just better to eat the cost even if these fail as well, but I’ll be sure to shout into the ether if & when these “new” ones fail.
