I don’t need this in the type of camping or living I regularly participate in. But I can foresee a time when I might want to have these.
How about I put $5 down and you write my name on a box and stick it to the side. Down the road if society completely collapses and I can Mad Max my ass to the warehouse with $23 in hand, I can pick my pair of bottles up and maybe we can barter for other supplies. Can we make that deal?
Just kidding. But should conditions arise, I’ll be making my way to the post-apocalyptic trading post I assume you guys will be operating in Carrollton. I trust I can show my ink to the guards for access.
@djslack I have a feeling you’re going to want to hide that ink; they’re equally likely to shoot you on sight under the very reasonable assumption that you survived the first wave fueled by rage alone & have finally come to take your revenge after discovering the hard way that none of this shit they sold for emergencies worked when you actually needed it.
I bought these last time they had them. I use it for water stations in airports. Sometimes those station have semi-stinky water and these water bottles help make that water palatable.
I’m tempted to buy these just to have the complete filter replacement when the filters die in my insulated ones. It’s considerably less expensive to do that than to buy the complete membrane filter alone.
@lizbethjoy The membrane filter lasts semi-forever but you do have to replace the carbon element more often. They just had the insulated ones for around $20 each (pack of 2) a few days ago iirc.
@lizbethjoy@phr They did, and I bought them—haven’t used them yet, though. I’m worried I’ll be pissed if they don’t make my tap water taste better, or at least make it feel less like I’m drinking tiny shards of mineralized whatever-the-fuck.
@dvermilion@lizbethjoy ha the insulated ones are $25 on side deal now, and these tritan ones are $20. I ordered these, decided against insulated because of weight.
