Say, “What if these things that have been happening–the overturned car in the creek, the strange storm, the bartender’s disappearance–are not mere occurrences, but rather they’re a chain of events orchestrated by an ancient evil that has lurked in this area since long before this town was ever established?” Or, if you’re a different character, say, “Yes, there’s no other explanation.”
