Wacky... Yet Practical

Hi all. In honor of this Quirky Trek backpack and duffel combo bag, Meh has asked me, their quirky friend, to the write-up today.

But before we get to the product, let me introduce myself a bit further. You can call me Jed. That’s short for Jedwin. As for my last name, it’s pronounced ‘Ash,’ but it’s actually just that letter that’s an ‘a’ and an ‘e’ put together.

I currently hold down two jobs. During the week, I’m a clownfish census worker, going door-to-door to keep a running tally of the local clownfish population. This is important work, allowing our city to know how much to invest in clownfish-related infrastructure. On the weekends, I run a nonprofit called Clowns-Fish, where I take underprivileged members of the clown community fishing.

Additionally, I am a Meh customer and even have a membership, which is one of the quirkiest things about me. But let’s not get distracted, shall we? We have a great product right here to talk about!

As a backpack, it’s wonderful. Sometimes, I use it to take my compact typewriter to the beach. There, I like to type out descriptions of the people who draw caricatures. Otherwise, I pack a pair of binoculars in it to go seagull watching. Some would say this is a silly practice and that all seagulls look the same. But you can tell a lot about each bird’s personality by looking into its eyes. One, for example, might appear hungry for French fries and other scraps, whereas another might have an expression that tells you it’s good at math.

Anyway, getting back to the bag, did I mention the water bottle holder on the side? It’s very convenient and fits most water bottles, even mine, which I whittled out of wood. Then there’s the RFID-blocking interior pocket, which is a true lifesaver. I use mine to store important stuff like my credit card, my ID, and my Keanu Reeves Butter Sculptors Association membership card.

As for when it’s converted to a duffel, I find it makes a wonderful gym bag, capable of carrying everything I need: my workout clothes (an old time-y swim costume), my earbuds and Microsoft Zune for listening to my favorite workout playlists (mostly zither covers of classic rock ballads), and my running shoes (which I put on to jog backwards on the treadmill).

Otherwise, it’s wonderful for trips, like my annual excursion to the Conference Conference, where conference organizers from around the world come to discuss their craft. I don’t run a conference myself, but I do the official Conference Conference commemorative needlepoint each year.

Have I made my point yet? Yes? Good.

So go ahead and get a bag if you need a bag. Or, let me rephrase that: get a bag if you need two bags.
