Our Take

  • Designed for areas of 48 sq. ft. or smaller
  • Coddles your nose hair by not letting it do its air-filtering job
  • Striking futuristic look provokes disappointed “where’s my jetpack?”- type feelings in how “the future” turned out
  • Everybody’s gonna want to hang out at your desk now
discuss this deal

It just sits there and collects dust.

Let’s clear the air (haw haw!) about what personal air purifiers do. Their job is to nab most of the little airborne nasties in your immediate vicinity. Under normal conditions, in an appropriately sized area (48 square feet, in this case), this CleanAirBall should take some of the gross out of the air around you.

It should also attract the attention of passersby for its retro-future style. The sleek sphere (in your choice of white or pink) and soft glow look like something out of Barbarella. Or at least Sleeper.

What it won’t do is vacuum up all the dust clinging to surfaces in your room. It won’t be much good if you’re drilling through plaster or grooming alpacas in the same room. You’ll be disappointed if you expect to never have to clean up that room ever again. True pure-air freaks should take advantage of this freaky low price to set up several of them in the same room. And then post pictures in our forum, because that probably looks super cool.

Like most of the stuff on your desk, the CleanAirBall will sit around collecting dust. Unlike most of the stuff on your desk, that’s literally all it’s designed to do.
