Beantown Sound
I was in my cah, waiting in the drive-thru at the Dunkin, but things weh taking a little too long, so I took out my phone and put in my Bowston Acoustics eahbuds and stahted rewatching The Depahted on my phone. Got really engrossed in it too.
Seriously, maybe the second best movie I’ve evah seen, after game 7 of the 2004 AL Championship series, go Sawx!
Anyway, the noise-cancelling was so good, and the sound so perfectly attuned to my Bowstononian eahs, that I didn’t heah the guy honking behind me. Got out of his cah, came up to mine, stahted knocking on my window.
‘Can I help you?’ I said.
And he said, ‘You can help yahself and everyone else by pulling fohwahd, bro.’
And I said, ‘Oh, sowrry. I was a bit distracted.’
I’d lowahed my phone and slipped my eahbuds out, so he didn’t realize I’d been watching something. ‘Hey, man, I been theh all week. Feckin’ Paul Gawge? That’s all we gowt for Jaylen?’
And I said, ‘I ain’t over Mahcus Smaht. Heaht of a champion, even if it took him leaving to win one.’
Then he looked in my backseat, saw my three dogs, and asked, ‘What are the dogs’ names?’
And I said, ‘Mookie.’
And he said, ‘All three?’
And I said, ‘All three.’
He gestured to his cah behind mine and said, ‘Yeah, I got three dogs named Mookie in mine too. Maybe you pull fohwahd, I pull fohwahd, we bring ah dogs and ah Dunkin to the dog pahk.’
So we did, and it was a bit confusing for the dogs, because there was me and there was him, and then there were four other guys, all with dogs named Mookie, but we had a good time, and it blossomed into a beautiful friendship. Tuhns out, his sister’s friend growing up had a brotheh who sometimes did light plumbing for Matt Damon’s cousin, whereas my close childhood friend’s neighboh had a nephew who ran a bakery that Ben Affleck’s mom’s sister’s coworker sometimes got pastries from.
Anyway, it was a good time, and since I bahley used my eahbuds, they weh chahged and ready to go when I got home, so I could listen to old episodes of Cah Talk while I did a little yahd wohk.
