Bob dropped his things down at his desk and went to pour himself a cup of coffee.
In the office Kitchen, Gil was putting away his lunch.
“I expected to see you at the station this morning,” Bob said.
“I have an appointment out on the east side, so I drove today,” Gil said. “You wouldn’t believe the price of these garages!”
“I know!” Bob said. “It practically costs more than an hour’s wages just leaving your car there! It stinks!”
“But you know what doesn’t stink?” Gil said. “This.”
He drew Bob’s attention to the rose pinned to the breast pocket of his shirt.
