These accidentally became the best deal in the world.

Sometimes genius spills all over your lap like a Big Gulp with a loose top, only instead of Mr. Pibb, it’s full of gold. Our shrewd, ruthless negotiators hammered down the price on these Bluetooth receivers because they were buggy with iOS 7. Like, beyond bad. Broken. Busted. Almost half of the Amazon reviews rated it one star. It was fine with Android stuff, but it just straight up didn’t work with iPhones.

So we ruthlessly, shrewdly held on to them for a couple of months as we figured out how to pitch a glitchy Bluetooth connector. Lo and behold, along comes iOS 8, and now it works perfectly. We are SO FREAKING SMART YOU GUYZ.

Seriously, we tested it ourselves. It works great. It totally receives Bluetooth audio from your iPhone (with iOS or Android device. And it plays that audio through any audio device with an auxiliary-in jack (speakers, home receiver, etc.) Oh, and within six feet of an AC outlet. It’s powered by AC power, so it’s not mobile, hence the “home” in the name “BT Home Connect.” But there are also no batteries to buy or charging to worry about.

We even took a cue from the Facebook Mood-Altering Department and tested these on our unsuspecting audience by throwing them into some fuku bags. Ask those lucky guinea pigs in the forums how that turned out.

Thanks to iOS 8 and our masterly intellect, you can now very cheaply turn any speakers into Bluetooth speakers. To paraphrase the teachings of our spiritual master Pee-Wee Herman: we meant to do that.
