Your Take

Dimensions would be nice. Some people have big butts. Just sayin...
-
How thick are they? Do they have non-slip material on the underside? I could use a new cushion for my wheelchair, but I need more details.

AITA for falling asleep on a long drive?
Okay, so a little background: while I am not exactly a ‘seasonal worker,’ I would say that my work increases exponentially during the holiday season. For the sake of anonymity, I won’t say the exact industry I’m in, but suffice it to say, my job is to serve as the endpoint for an integral process that nearly everyone is familiar with, one, I will add, that, despite its importance, is often ridiculed.
Which is all to say: the period beginning with Halloween and terminating at the start of the New Year can be particularly taxing for me.
And yet, despite this, I am expected to take on extra work at home, or, in this case, on the road. Namely, I am expected to support the full weight of my partner, we’ll call him Jack, for the duration of the 3-hour drive to visit with family for the holidays.
And just to make it very clear, I do NOT receive thanks for this.
I am given an uncomfortable seat at an odd angle, I have absolutely no room to shift or otherwise adjust myself, and I have no say in the music. In fact, if I so much as vocalize at all, you would not believe the complaints from everyone else in the car.
So, this year, I decided: enough is enough. After all, I’m not driving. Why not get a little shut-eye?
It was all going great at first, but then, somewhere in the middle of the trip, I came back to quasi-wakefulness, and what did I hear but Jack, mumbling angrily under his breath about my decision to fall asleep.
And what really peeves me is that I know that Jack shops on a certain deal site. And I know that back in mid-October, they sold a 2-pack of seat cushions. Not only would these give me the comfort I need to stay awake on a long drive, but they’d also help me align the spine, and stay cool doing it, because what can I say! I’m full of hot air!
(Oh, and I know this can be confusing, but yes, pillows actually keep me awake rather than help me fall asleep. It’s a cultural thing, you could say.)
But hey, maybe I’m overthinking it. So what do you think? AITA?
