Did you merge them in like I did when I fixed this one?

@mike808 feel free to do so if you’d like. I locked but didn’t delete the other topic in case you wanted to preserve anything.

You didn’t have any reservations about locking Game 38 that already had posts from yesterday. If you’re all concerned about letting the game run its course.

My solution was to just start a new game to merge this clusterfuck that you seem intent on perpetuating.

And this topic also had posts that weren’t represented in yours. One had to go so they weren’t both getting new/different posts and this one was created first so it stayed.

@mike808 stop. Just let the game go on. Not sure why you are making such a big deal about this. There is no need to merge anything here, in fact there was no reason to start a second Game 38. Let it go.

Yes, there was a good reason to restart game 38. I stated my reasons. Kyeh even said this one was a mistake. So why are you continuing to dig this hole?

As VolMod, you are free to keep on abusing your ability to not let it go.

@mike808 you are the only one fighting for a new Game 38, everyone else was fine with this one.
No hole is being dug and no big deal being made on my end. I locked a topic so that only one is going at a time, and I’ve deleted prematurely started new topics. Nothing more, nothing less.

Since this is already much more than needed to be discussed about a forum game, I won’t be speaking to this anymore.

@Ignorant NO, “everyone” was not alright with this one. Like the people that were posting to the other one yesterday, long before Kyeh tried to give this one life support, and call in you for a favor to abuse your VolMod powers.

We can continue this game just like the previous 37 forum posts and everyone can keep having fun with it. We don’t need to throw in an additional 5 part 39’s when this thread is active and has participants.

A solution: Would it help if we pinned this for a day or two for everyone to get on board?

Well, the other thread already had acitive participants long before kyeh gave this one a self-post to try and start it.

So, claims of that being the motivation are, frankly, utter bullshit. And those making them are liars.

@mike808 If we really want to get down to the technicalities of all of this. @kyeh posted their link (this one) at 5:34 CST on the 22nd.

The second Part 38 was posted today (the 23rd) at 12:23 AM CST.

There were three comments that were not yours copying the posts from this thread over, and those were from 17 hours ago which started roughly 3 hours after your post.

With that being said. @ignorant has kindly asked for folks to not beat others down, and I strongly agree. This is a community. People have been having fun with this and they don’t want to see it end. Build each other up, don’t tear each other down.

This is the last comment I’m making about this. This current post is the active one until the transition to part 39.

@Kyeh Amazing! I saw a great documentary about George Attla, the inspiration for this song, on PBS ’ Independent Lens a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to be streaming anywhere at the moment, but it’s worth seeing if you get the chance.

@ircon96 That’s where I first heard this song! I love love love that movie, it’s one of my 2 favorites. Her singing is integral to it - when he’s gliding along in that glorious landscape with that music it just feels so exhilarating! (Other fave movie is Jean-Jacques Beineix’s “Diva.” Hmm, and music is an essential part of that story too.)

@Kyeh You must be referring to the 1979 movie “Spirit of the Wind”? The one i saw is the 2019 documentary, “Attla,” which made me want to see the 1979 one, but that one doesn’t seem to be streaming, either. It looks like it’s owned by Turner Classic Movies, so who knows if it will ever see the light of day? I haven’t seen “Diva,” either, I’ll have to look that up. Thanks for the recs!

Yes, sorry - for some reason they’re both pretty obscure, and they shouldn’t be. Beinex was more famous for “Betty Blue,” but I didn’t like that one at all.
Diva is really fun, and what I love about both films is neither one gives you the plot clichés you expect.

@Kyeh Well, I’d say you’re in good company, cuz the IMDb listing for “Diva” included the episode of “Sneak Previews” where Siskel & Ebert RAVED about it. (Made me nostalgic, i miss those goofballs! )

@Kyeh @llangley Sorry for the delay…the Run DMC song is actually a collab with Aerosmith (it’s a rap cover of an Aerosmith song & Steven Tyler adds vocals to that version). Fun fact: in his teen years (during the 70s), my late brother used to hang out with a group of ruffians, which sometimes included Tyler, in the summer at Lake Winnipesaukee.
