@RiotDemon yeah, it depends upon the complexity of the decorations and how much setup they’ll require. If it’s all supposed to go live midnight of Black Friday, then it’s got to go up before that. If it’s going up (or on) in stages, then it’s significantly less critical to have everything set the week before.
Black Friday, when all the womenfolk used to head out to the stores, is when we used to do it (Dad and kids); I maintain that tradition though my wife happily avoids the stores on that Friday.
@ircon96 I mean if I had kids in addition to the kittens I’ve get it out. It just would need bolted to the floor. They already have their own more stable trees
Christmas comes out and explodes all over our house the day after Thanksgiving unless we’re out of town. My wife always does Halloween decorations and may put out some Thanksgiving/Fall decorations afterward if she feels like it, but Christmas decorating is the Super Bowl around here. Sooo many Clothtique Santas and singing snowmen.
Anytime after the Halloween decorations come down the outdoor Christmas decorations can go up. This year I was a bit late but did them on the 18th when we had an exceptionally warm day.
They don’t get lit until we are back from Thanksgiving dinner.
What are you talking about? I still haven’t taken down my Christmas lights from last year!
@Rueki
If it’s my neighbor, a few years ago.
I might start putting up stuff before Thanksgiving, but I don’t turn it on until the day after usually.

After Thanksgiving and the associated naps.
Whenever my wife says it’s the right time, period!

The chaos of kittens and a Christmas tree… Just no. It can stay put away
@unksol Aww, where’s your sense of adventure?

@unksol I bet they’d love it if you decorated their trees with some of your most fragile ornaments!
@unksol We haven’t decorated in decades for just this reason. lol

I decorate my cube more than my house so those decorations go up the Monday after Thanksgiving.
I used to have feelings about this. Need to make time to appreciate Thanksgiving before Christmas.
Now that I have grown, left Christianity and conservative shit, I don’t care anymore. Decorate whenever you want, however you want. Go crazy.
Traditionally I don’t start decorating until after Thanksgiving. But if the weather is nice and we have the free time, we’ll probably do it this week.
Why wasn’t December 24 an option?
Immediately after Halloween to alleviate my post-Samhain depression.
Florida man.
