I’ll be interested to hear how this year’s sales went. We went to Target yesterday, 24 hours after they opened on Thanksgiving, and there were TVs all over the place, unsold. It looked like the store had been reverse-looted.

Keep checking the Amazon warehouse pricing links. I bought those, not new; I presume they are open-box or returns.
Right now those prices are high, but some people who bought these on impulse will return them and the warehouse ought to show some good prices intermittently over the next 60 days or so.
Alternatively, set a camelcamelcamel alert. Just be sure to check the “3rd party new” and “third party used” pricing, as well as the new item pricing.

I bought it “running” on 2-1/2 cylinders. Apparently it never got a tuneup in over 160k miles. Taking care of the other “deferred maintence” issues, and I had a dependable truck for under $1k.
I rolled 275k miles a couple weeks ago. Yeah, it has needed other repairs along the way, but it’s been cheap.
@f00l $100. No catshirts. It did need a cat(alytic converter), though. Along with the rest of the exhaust (rusted out muffler), an EGR valve, tires, battery, valve cover gasket … and a much much much needed tune-up.

If it can’t pass smog, it can be had for cheap – but usually those that can’t pass smog are because it’s in mechanically in poor condition – which you don’t want.
And you don’t want a “cosmetically poor” one from here. There’s no annual lights and safety inspection here in California, so cargo vans with some damage already are par for course.

@narfcake I had a nicely equipped Black Ranger many years ago. Bought it new. I put much nicer aftermarket wheels and tires on it and it looked sharp. But that 4.0 L engine was a gas hog - like not much different than an F150. It readily spun the tires (not saying much for an unloaded PU bed).
It was the vehicle that taught me to ask my insurance agent about rates prior to shopping. I was safely past the 26 year old insurance cliff. But the rates for the Ranger were 50-75% higher vs. a full size F150! Typical young driver vs. older avg age driver for the F150 killed its rate.
Still want the Nintendo NES Classic Edition, but sold out online and I’m not motivated enough to drive around to find one. Hoping to grab one when Amazon restocks.

Only they did a classic Slickdeals pricing error. the TV - a monster with every single enhancement they had - listed for around $2k and sold for around $1700 I think. They prob intended to drop it to $1400-$1500. Only someone goofed and it showed at like $500.
Somebody found it, bought a few, and then posted to slickdeals. The site went nuts as it does. They were OOS in a very few minutes, or else someone at Samsung noticed and killed the inventory to stop the bleeding until they could do a price correction.
Afaik Samsung honored the sales instead of canceling them. Afaik, none of these tv’s has exploded.

@heartny I have the 8" version which I think is similar spec-wise. (Already had a 10" iPad - wanted something a bit more compact but not phablet sized.) It works fine even tho I continue to prefer iOS after living with both OS’s in phone and tablet form. I think the 7" version has neutered specs.
Picked up a second one (8") this weekend at regional local, Meijer, for the same $129 it is everywhere ($119 @Costco/SAMs for a time)… plus a $30 store credit making it $100.
Don’t know if the 10" has the flush retractable buttons on the back like the 8" but that proprietary fastening method made the OEM hard cover/flexible stand well worth it… once I found one discounted from $50 to $20. Unlike the iPad magnet-fastened smart covers it stays connected solidly.
@mikibell Aside from all the Target discounts, I used my Groupon $20 gift card that I bought for $10. I tried to place my order through eBates, but Target said all the stores in my area were sold-out. The first store I went to was actually sold-out, but they checked and found another one that had 11 in stock. So I high-tailed to the other location. Seems that it was not on sale in the store and they allegedly are not allowed to do a target.com price match for Black Friday. So, I stood there and placed a ship-to store order as I stared at the box that would soon be mine. Took almost 2 hours for the order to be processed, which necessitated me buying more stuff while I waited.

Great price and it fits perfectly. It has fuzzy stuff on the inside to protect the screen and back. Opening and closing the cover will turn the tablet on and off. It smells a bit odd, but hopefully that will dissipate over time.

@heartny I have the 8" version which I think is similar spec-wise. (Already had a 10" iPad - wanted something a bit more compact but not phablet sized.) It works fine even tho I continue to prefer iOS after living with both OS’s in phone and tablet form. I think the 7" version has neutered specs.
Picked up a second one (8") this weekend at regional local, Meijer, for the same $129 it is everywhere ($119 @Costco/SAMs for a time)… plus a $30 store credit making it $100.
Don’t know if the 10" has the flush retractable buttons on the back like the 8" but that proprietary fastening method made the OEM hard cover/flexible stand well worth it… once I found one discounted from $50 to $20. Unlike the iPad magnet-fastened smart covers it stays connected solidly.
@mikibell Aside from all the Target discounts, I used my Groupon $20 gift card that I bought for $10. I tried to place my order through eBates, but Target said all the stores in my area were sold-out. The first store I went to was actually sold-out, but they checked and found another one that had 11 in stock. So I high-tailed to the other location. Seems that it was not on sale in the store and they allegedly are not allowed to do a target.com price match for Black Friday. So, I stood there and placed a ship-to store order as I stared at the box that would soon be mine. Took almost 2 hours for the order to be processed, which necessitated me buying more stuff while I waited.
@heartny So, aside from all the aforementioned discounts, I got an email today from Target apologizing for misleading me into thinking I bought the Galaxy Tab A with the S-Pen, so they are sending me a $50 gift card. Nice. I never expected the S-Pen, or the $50.

Great price and it fits perfectly. It has fuzzy stuff on the inside to protect the screen and back. Opening and closing the cover will turn the tablet on and off. It smells a bit odd, but hopefully that will dissipate over time.

@huja If you’re flexible, the Microsoft store has a nice deal on a Dell 13 inch i5 convertible laptop but I don’t think it is from the XPS line. They also have several other deals. Advantage of MS - their “Signature Editions” have zero 3rd party crapware. (Didn’t claim they eliminated the MS crapware!)

@conandlibrarian nah, I bought the sale Falkens at discount tire. I’ve had two of them on the back since July and after driving through South Carolina a lot they are still round so I got 2 more. I’m pretty deaf so road noise doesn’t bother me.

@connorbush Thanks. I use the Jawbone Up24 as a vibration alarm for this stupid thing I wake up for every day at midnight. That one won’t work. I did pick up a Misfit Speedo Shine cheap- Shines are really nice trackers ($30 today) and the Speedo one counts laps in the pool somehow from the change in direction at the turns.
