I have a similar product. I use it to visually explain things to my kids. Science and math concepts. Timelines. Things like that. We also use it when we play Pictionary.
@Nate311 Mom painted blackboard paint on the wall and used that. As a side bonus we had a blackboard much bigger than 4 of these put together that 4 kids could drawn on and only fight about the chalk, not how little space each of us had.
I have a tablet-sized one I got several years ago stickied to my refrigerator. I used to use it to jot down groceries I needed or whatnot, but at some point I switched to a list app on my phone.
Last time I checked the battery was dead. On my model the battery is not supposed to be replaceable, but all you have to do is break the glue holding the compartment lid. I doubt I’ll ever get around to it.

@blaineg @rockblossom That would be called (the reset) an eraser, rag, sponge, spit on your hand, your shirt sleeve… It’s very versatile.
@blaineg Alas, the reset button has to be purchased separately and installed, as it is not normally included with the chalkboard.
