(Majority of my shirts in current rotation are from shirt.woot, with Teeturtle, Mediocritee, and Threadless in the mix every so often when I feel like it. Also I don’t wear catshirts everyday; only on days that end in ‘y’.)
@jasneko Did you have more than one artist spotlight? I have this one bookmarked because it’s just one of two side sales in which I owned every design offered.
(The other was Schrodinger’s Shirts. Useless fact: Schrodinger’s Equation is the only design on the first catalog page that I have NOT found second hand.)
@narfcake Yes I’m pretty sure I had at least 2?
Wow that’s pretty awesome about owning every single design offered
Hmmm ok, upon clicking - I don’t even remember that spotlight that you posted!! When was that?
I found another spotlight, though even this one is not the one I was thinking of… I think the one I’m thinking of was my first spotlight, which pretty sure it had the “purrfect day” shirt and “Cat in the wild”.
@smkarizona I don’t have any dresses but sometimes if I’m not leaving the house beyond going out to check the mail I wear a lab coat with nothing under it. Pretty much as comfortable as it gets in the summer.
Scrub top… I’m at work.
(this applies equally to when this thread was posted and now when I answered. I was at work at 2300 CDT, left at 0030 and came back – in a different scrub top – at 0645.)
@Kidsandliz
We saw Dominique (the Cat Man at Key West) years ago and the entire front of his T was covered in holes where he would have a cat leap thru a ring of fire and land on his chest. He was a blast to watch with the rescue cats he had trained over the years.
@brainmist Sorry to burst your mental image, but not that kind of nightshirt.
Actually, more of a polo shirt.
But, it’s a shirt, it’s nighttime, hence it’s my “night shirt”.
@brainmist@Kidsandliz Yeah, I tried about three dozen times. Got about half a dozen different clips of Bill Murray in “Scrooged”, with many repeats. Got several of McDuck (but don’t recall Daffy in them). Deleting before edit window slams shut and will maybe try again later for Ebeneezer after /giphy sobers up. Third one was good, but not what I was expecting so moved on. Never got it back.
@brainmist@phendrick Giphy will only drink more as the day progresses. You should have left it up. We are all used to giphy fails, some of which are pretty humorous.
Unprinted wine red V-neck 100% cotton with very short sleeves. I was out in the shop printing T-shirts for a bit, earlier this evening. It’s way too hot for that during the day.
My morning ritual is to get out of bed, sit down on the toilet, brush my teeth, check a few art and media sites I frequent, check a few automated searches on sales and auction sites I frequent, check Meh, then check and send texts from friends and family. No news or social media until after breakfast though.
Which is to say that not only am I not wearing a shirt, or indeed pants, but I’m also slightly goobered up with toothpaste drippings and eye boogers.
A Dropkick Depression tank top, “pro wrestling is for everyone” with 6 asterisks in shifting colors to be a rainbow
![detail of shirt as described above - black t-shirt with the text in the post][1]
A green Meh shirt that actually got me recognized my another Meh citizen in the real life. Was a weird encounter. I didn’t know there were others out there and Meh wasn’t just a giant figment of the imagination existing only in the darkest recesses of my psyche.
I for real don’t get how people own really old t-shirts. I can only wear mine about 10 times before the entire front is full of holes. 5 wears after that, the sleeves are falling off.
@brennyn
for me it’s partially because I have so flipping many. I get a t-shirt about every 8 weeks when I give blood. And since I’ve given over 5 gallons over the years I have a buttload of them in my closet. Add in T-shirts from jazz festivals, travel destinations, beer and wine brands, and some smart-ass ones I collected over the years and some get old.
Typically I keep them until they start fraying at the neck or the sleeves start separating. At that point I usually cut the sleeves off and use them as work shirts outside in the summer. Once they’re not fit for that task anymore I throw them in the shop and use them as rags. By the time I get rid of them there’s not much left!
@chienfou Correct – though I have plenty in the rag pile that were intact to begin with. One of my local thrift stores used to bag up the unsold shirts to resell, but I’ll wait until those are unsold for at least a week so those get discounted too. I’d pay about $2 for about a 10 gallon sized “rag bag”.
@chienfou@macromeh@narfcake “Waste not, want not” also applies to space in your house. I am still digging myself out from under five people’s worth of a lifetime of “I might need that/I can fix that.”
I don’t have 5 people’s lifetimes but after Dad passed and mom was going through the house there was a lot there.
I have some stuff where im like. I could use this motor out of this for something maybe. Electronics. I’m never going to or fix them. Trying to get better about just junking stuff.
At least with metal we have a recycler company and you can just toss it all in.
Pajamas. It’s midnight so what else did you expect?
@cengland0 My PJs are usually a t and some PJ pants, so.
None
@Cerridwyn I do a lot less of this due to doggoes. Having had nipples stomped on through a shirt, I’ma pass on the shirtless version.
@brainmist
That makes perfect sense. But it all actuality I was wearing a dress
@Cerridwyn I think I was misconstruing due to the time. And possibly the dogs stomping on me.
@brainmist nah. I did it on purpose
@Cerridwyn @brainmist she knows what we’re like around here.
Since it’s still Caturday, a catshirt from catshirtswoot. Specifically, @jasneko’s Purrfect Day.
https://shirt.woot.com/offers/purrrfect-day-2
(Majority of my shirts in current rotation are from shirt.woot, with Teeturtle, Mediocritee, and Threadless in the mix every so often when I feel like it. Also I don’t wear catshirts everyday; only on days that end in ‘y’.)
Current catshirt.
https://shirt.woot.com/offers/recharging-cat
@narfcake Aww yay! I think that one was from a special daily feature of a bunch of my designs a long while back.

VAN MURALS! GROUND SQUIRRELS! SPIT CURLS! AWESOME!
An extremely thread-bare 20-plus year old wolf T-shirt that has become my work shirt. (I’m currently wrist-deep in a Samsung LCD TV.)
@PooltoyWolf Are you attempting a repair? I’m a retired Samsung TV Tech that’s only retired because they are now so cheap they’re disposable.
@IndifferentDude @PooltoyWolf Don’t suppose you know any retired Westinghouse techs for equipment circa 1945?
@brainmist @PooltoyWolf Not offhand but there may be a YouTube video or 2 that may help! I’ve repaired lots of items that way.
@IndifferentDude No attempt this time, in this case just a cleanup. Been doing this for close to 2 decades now as a hobby/side hustle
@IndifferentDude @PooltoyWolf I’ve looked, with no luck.
@brainmist @IndifferentDude @PooltoyWolf Why does this conversation sound like it comes from the same universe as today’s writeup?
Or maybe I’ve just been up way too late.
@brainmist @IndifferentDude Now I’m curious what you’re working on!
A really LONG shirt, often called a dress!!!
@chienfou Man, you’re really getting a bunch of hours in before the surgery!
@Kyeh
Yeah. We are still shorthanded so I’m trying to do all I can before tomorrow and the 6 weeks when I can’t!
I’m wearing a “Camp Crystal Lake Swim Team” shirt.
Calvin & Hobbes tshirt
I just woke up… So I’m completely naked. Woohoo posting on meh in the nude, the way God intended us to post on meh.
@OnionSoup
this is why TEXT-only posting is a great idea!
@chienfou @OnionSoup
I resemble that remark. (I might define it.)
Plain colored t-shirt with a few pin prick cat claw holes in it (many of my shirts have that decoration).
@Kidsandliz
We saw Dominique (the Cat Man at Key West) years ago and the entire front of his T was covered in holes where he would have a cat leap thru a ring of fire and land on his chest. He was a blast to watch with the rescue cats he had trained over the years.
@Kidsandliz my cats have ruined more items of clothing than I care to count.
@chienfou @Kidsandliz Dominique’s been doing that show for a long time; I recall seeing it back in the early '90s.
A shirt from Kohl’s
@heartny Me too! Of course, that’s often the case for me.
@heartny @Kyeh
/giphy yep yep
@Cerridwyn @heartny I bet this was meant as a response to the exchange above …
@heartny @Kyeh yep
Red t-shirt with a pokéball on it.
@brennyn
A random blue shirt with an iguana on it.
A chemistry dad joke shirt designed by @ACraigL.
@sammydog01 that narrows it down to 3 (or maybe 4)
A book shirt.
A MANLY V-neck T-shirt!! I mean, seriously, what kinda dork wears a crew-neck??
/giphy dork
@IndifferentDude
/youtube dork nerd geek
A night shirt. No surprise; it’s 11:12 p.m.!
@phendrick OK, Ebenezer!
(Seriously though, nightshirts are super comfy and people should go to bed when they want to go to bed!)
@brainmist Sorry to burst your mental image, but not that kind of nightshirt.
Actually, more of a polo shirt.
But, it’s a shirt, it’s nighttime, hence it’s my “night shirt”.
@brainmist @phendrick That is a giphy fail. That is daffy duck
@brainmist @Kidsandliz Yeah, I tried about three dozen times. Got about half a dozen different clips of Bill Murray in “Scrooged”, with many repeats. Got several of McDuck (but don’t recall Daffy in them). Deleting before edit window slams shut and will maybe try again later for Ebeneezer after /giphy sobers up. @brainmist @phendrick Giphy will only drink more as the day progresses. You should have left it up. We are all used to giphy fails, some of which are pretty humorous.
@brainmist @Kidsandliz The one I should have kept early on, was not Ebeneezer, and I’m not even sure she was wearing a shirt.
It was this one:
(if you want something done right, …)
Outdoor Voices sleeveless t-shirt
“Two Beer or Not Two Beer” t-shirt.
A free shirt.
… How did you know I was wearing my stealth Mediocre flask shirt? I mean, it’s fucking stealth. The people around here hardly notice it.
You only asked this question because it was going to weird me out, didn’t you? Well, you succeeded. I hope you’re happy now.
@TheFLP
it’s only paranoia if it isn’t true… right?
Plain black cotton T-shirt, no logos or other printing.
About ready to go outside to slop the chickens and tend the garden.
A Red Raven Games shirt.
I have dozens, but just so happen to be wearing one of my favorites.

Unprinted wine red V-neck 100% cotton with very short sleeves. I was out in the shop printing T-shirts for a bit, earlier this evening. It’s way too hot for that during the day.
A union tshirt that’s at least 12 years old and two sizes too big. Comfy as all get out
A t-shirt for the video game Madden '08 that I got back in 2008.
Go sports!
Really old but soft UGA shirt. Yes, it’s Georgia Red
Go DAWGS
AC/DC shirt

I hardly ever wear a band shirt but today I happen to be wearing the shirt from a band that a drummer I used to play with was in. https://sanskazakgascarsolo.bandcamp.com/album/cloud-seeder
Black Dog tee shirt. I shop in Martha’s Vineyard. I do have a ton of Woot and meh shirts. Every draw I look in seems to be full of them.
A Grogu/Mandalorian print Hawaiian shirt.
A green Meh shirt that actually got me recognized my another Meh citizen in the real life. Was a weird encounter. I didn’t know there were others out there and Meh wasn’t just a giant figment of the imagination existing only in the darkest recesses of my psyche.
Neon yellow 2015 Trucking Awesome Food truck festival volunteer t-shirt
PANS! GLANDS! CRAYONS! AWESOME!
Tee Turtle. I love their shirts - delightful snark, good art.
@dptalia The write-up on this offer from 6 years ago delves a bit into how Teeturtle came to be.
An old Lenny & Joe’s Fishtail restaurant (Madison, CT-my sister lived in Clinton) T shirt. They supported local charities and organizations.
A Northern Lights Norway Tee… but your Meh models are much cuter than my shirt…
Beach tee
Surf Arrakis from qwertee.com
I’m wearing my Maui Kanaha Beach windsurfing T-shirt.
Sleeveless shirt from 32 degrees cool. They’re nice when it’s hot!!
I for real don’t get how people own really old t-shirts. I can only wear mine about 10 times before the entire front is full of holes. 5 wears after that, the sleeves are falling off.
@brennyn Cats?

@chienfou The catshirt tonight I’m wearing tonight has been cut into a tank for that reason – it was gaining extra ventilation.

@narfcake
Waste not… Want not… Amirite?
@chienfou Correct – though I have plenty in the rag pile that were intact to begin with. One of my local thrift stores used to bag up the unsold shirts to resell, but I’ll wait until those are unsold for at least a week so those get discounted too. I’d pay about $2 for about a 10 gallon sized “rag bag”.
@chienfou @narfcake I thought it was:
Waste not
Want not
Hoard a lot
@chienfou @macromeh @narfcake “Waste not, want not” also applies to space in your house. I am still digging myself out from under five people’s worth of a lifetime of “I might need that/I can fix that.”
@chienfou @macromeh @narfcake @werehatrack
I don’t have 5 people’s lifetimes but after Dad passed and mom was going through the house there was a lot there.
