What is the return policy on product?
2So I purchased Toshiba Chromebook 2 and the touch pad is not working properly. I email Meh.com and they told me to contact Toshiba. I called them and they told me i would have to pay $29.99 just to ship the item to them to fix this. That is ridiculous, so i am asking you guys for some help. What is the return policy on their product. I have never used this site before. They do not have customer service number. So is this site fake? Please help!

If you need to contact customer support, the link is meh.com/support - easy peasy! (Forgot to mention - CS folks work M-F 9-5ish central time and it can take a day or two to get an answer back sometimes. This is because there are actual human beings trying to solve problems, so please be patient and they’ll get you sorted.)
It’s a good idea to read the meh.com/FAQ for info on returns, warranty, shipping, etc. - it really is good stuff to know.
The top post of every product thread has all kinds of information in it, including a link to the warranty info for the product, and how long that coverage lasts. Look at that information before you purchase and you’ll save yourself some frustration later.

Welcome
This site is not fake.
If you contact Meh CS, and quote them their Return Policy from here, you can get either a refund or replacement (it’s up to them).
The issue is with Toshiba and not with meh! as you already stated $29.99 for shipping an issue that existed already, to me, is crappy, but sounds like standard practice on a refurb at a very low price. Maybe you can find a cheaper shipping method or call Toshiba back and complain to them or contact your credit card company and complain to them!
If meh does decide to help out then feel lucky!
and btw start to be a better consumer before you hit the “buy” button - read around the site and see what the return policy is/isnt - maybe you won’t be so lucky at the next site and you really will get scammed!
@fjp999 Wouldn’t contacting the cc still just mess up meh, though, who really doesn’t seem to be at fault? Wish I could star your third paragraph like three or four times.
@p1t5e3l0 — not every ecommerce site is Amazon, thank Bezos! Deals here come with some risks, some caveats, but CS will do their best to work with you.
@brhfl cc does not always side with the customer. It is not an auto refund. if the investigation finds that the customer did not understand the policy of the purchase or did not do their best to resolve the issue they will not refund but the cc may help and explain to the customer how to resolve the issue.
Thanks for the four or five stars now
I would like to get a refund.
@p1t5e3l0 What is your best offer?
@p1t5e3l0
You’ll have to take it up with CS.
@p1t5e3l0 ask them to refund you 30 bucks so you can send it in to have it repaired.
@Kevin That’s a very good idea.
Old thread, but this makes me a little curious. I’ve seen a few products that had “return fees” to get repaired after arriving defective. Meh’s policy does state:
No mention of having to go to the manufacturer for any DOA product, regardless of how the warranty is handled, so why does that seem to happen sometimes?
From what I can tell, this happens more with the big ticket items- I’ve only bought cheap stuff and I’ve never been given the runaround by cs.
@Seeds With bigger ticket items, there is also a higher chance of reliable manufacturer replacement.
With the big ticket items, it can be expected more so than with cheaper things that, when you buy the item, you actually wanted the item and a refund would be disappointing. If we can’t replace the item ourselves and it is proven defective or damaged somehow, we can direct to the manufacturer, often because they came to us from the manufacturer. In many cases, we might even be able to cover the shipping fee or reach out to the manufacturer personally if any issues arise.
Other times we might direct to the manufacturer is when it is unclear whether the issue is a defect/ damage, some unidentified quirk, or just user error. We don’t always know all the ins and outs of certain products, but there’s a high chance they do.
In any case, always send a message in through the support form if something comes up. We will get to it and do whatever we can to help.
(Also, if you do go to the manufacturer, don’t ask them for a refund. We’ll direct to them for troubleshooting or replacement. It is surprising how many times people go to the manufacturer going “where’s my refund.”)
@ThomasF Good to know, thanks. Just to be clear- if someone does try to get something DOA repaired/replaced by the manufacturer at meh’s request, and the manufacturer insists on a shipping fee, meh will either handle the shipping fee or offer a refund?
@Seeds Varies between situations, but with the big ticket stuff we often can. When an item arrives DOA, damaged, or broken and we can confirm it, we’ll find a way to get it fixed, replaced, or refunded.
@ThomasF Can you expand on what time of situation you can’t? I hope I’m not coming across as an asshole, I’m just trying to understand.
@Seeds Cost of shipping respective to the item, and our relationship to the vendor/manufacturer, seeing if we can negotiate anything.
@Seeds @ThomasF So is it safe to say it varies between situations? Would that be a good way to put it?
@Seeds @therealjrn It varies between situations whether it varies between situations.
@Seeds @ThomasF Ohhh… :nods knowingly:
do you have CS number?
@p1t5e3l0
They only have this method as per:
@p1t5e3l0 go to your your order under my orders, and click i need help with this
What they said.

@p1t5e3l0 fucking touchpad breaker
That’s sucks they ship shit without even trying it out or testing it. Seems like a bunch of burnouts just looking to dump shit from the latest bulk buy
@rxich
Well I mean, there are only so many people working in the various locations, and of those people, even fewer who actually handle the actual products which get shipped out.
Considering that they need to ship out a lot of things, it’s not like they can necessarily test every single thing.
Besides:
If it’s brand new and in the box, would you like them to open it and test it out?
Even if the item was sold by the company without Meh being involved, the item could/would still arrive broken.
Mistakes happen, regardless of whose mistake it is.
@rxich Good idea! Then you get the open box discount too!
Simple solution. Pay with Amex and they will cover it and refund your money. They have insurance just for that for all members that’s included with your membership. All Amex card member qualifies for the coverage. They will refund you for ANY reason after you have tried to resolve with the seller and the seller refuses to accept responsibility for the quality and working condition of the products that they sell and advertise open web. If they don’t want to accept the return call Amex and they will take the claim over the phone. Simple. You will get your money back. If you don’t have an Amex card then call your credit card company and just dispute the charge and you will get your money back. Company’s that TRY to not accept returns are just screwing themselves because a “charge-back” to the seller comes with a hefty fee from the processor. Returns are just a part of doing business. Can you imagine if Walmart didn’t accept returns. Ridiculous. I would recommend checking the Amex website for all membership purchase protections you qualify for. maybe enough charge-backs and they will accept responsibility OR just shop somewhere else.
@dennisludwick Many retailers don’t accept AMEX.
