Dough:
5 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups warm water
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp salt
2 tsp all-purpose yeast
Bath:
2 quarts water
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp salt
1 tbsp baking soda
Mix water and yeast and allow to bloom. Mix in remaining dough ingredients and knead for five minutes (I use a mixer with a dough hook). The resulting dough should be stiff and not sticky. Cover and allow to rise until doubled in size (60-90 minutes in my kitchen). Punch down and divide into 12 equal parts on a floured baking sheet. Form into bagel shapes however you like, cover, and let rise until doubled again.
In a large cooking pan or skillet, bring bath to a boil. Reduce to a simmer, then start boiling the bagels, 45 seconds on each side. Drain on a wire rack. Brush with a beaten egg and add the toppings of your choice. Bake at 425 for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and cool on rack.
Life hasn’t changed a whole lot, for me. I’m still working.
I hope all of the Meh staff and Meh members are being safe, during this pandemic. And hopefully, we will get back to our normally scheduled meh lives, soon.

At the end of the day picking up donations that have been dumped all day, despite the sign telling them not to, at two sites that have been closed and abandoned (all employees of that company, including the manager, have been laid off) and dropping them off in the “free”’ bins behind the charity (that is also not taking donations at this time although has left their free bins accessible).
@Kyeh Yes. There is usually no one around when I pick up the bags and drop them off. I do see the family I am helping as I drop things off to them, but I don’t stay. The closest I got to anyone is when the 7ish year old little boy spontaneously came up to me, hugged me, and thanked me.

One: Staple items I usually order online and have delivered are now showing up as “instore purchase only.” Ummm… WHAT? Isn’t the whole “being in the store” part what we want to reduce?
Two: I got a “friendly reminder” about a free service appointment (which I didn’t make) for my vehicle, which doesn’t need to be serviced. It hasn’t acquired a lot of mileage because I can’t go anywhere! I realize that it was a computer-generated e-mail, so I’m not going to call up the dealership to say how much I look forward to sitting in their customer area waiting for my vehicle to get service it doesn’t need. They probably wouldn’t get the sarcasm, even if someone was actually there and not working from home.
Three: For the last decade or so, the County has e-mailed my property tax statement and I have paid it online. I got the bill, but this year they are not allowing us to pay it online. The statement said we could use a credit or debit card, but we would need to do it in person at the County Clerk’s office. Again …WHAT? I’ll mail them a check and yell at my computer screen some more.
Sewing (for work and a few masks), jigsaw puzzles, reading, walking the dog, grocery shopping, cooking, and cleaning. Aside from the masks, my normal activities.
Not to brag, but the government considers me essential. So, when I’m off work, I’m either gaming, cooking, or hanging out in a very nsfw chat group of friends

This was actually a new topic whereas I was bragging about picking up pop bottles for orphans. It was a whole new thing, so by continuing your supposed encouragement yet unknowledgeable tips on finding a drug dealer rings a little hollow and might perhaps confuse others.
So sorry, I didn’t mean to complain to you, my bad.
Maybe I need to start a GoFundMe for the orphans instead.
