@jmhsrv You can put them directly onto a mug or a small pitcher, though. You don’t need the stand. I didn’t buy them with the stand and I have no problems using them.
I picked these up a while ago from here (or MorningSave, or SideDeal, etc.). They are pretty cool. Just beware that the glass is extremely fragile. As in, one of mine broke just as I was attempting to tighten the plastic funnel part that threads onto the bottom.
@Kyeh So, we got one coffee version and one tea version. I drink tea (hate coffee), my wife drinks tea & coffee. IMO the taste is really no different from using a French press. It’s just arguably more convenient due to the timer that automatically ejects the drink when it’s done. It’s also easier to clean than a French Press, except for the part where I’m terrified of breaking the glass.
@The_Tim Thanks. I use one of those single-cup cone filter holders which is super convenient since you can just lift out the filter and toss it in the compost. I suppose the taste is different without the filter but I’m not a coffee connoisseur, just a caffeine addict. This is a good price though!

@jmhsrv @seraphimcaduto Here’s a photo showing how to use it without the base.

@The_Tim Do they really make the coffee that much better?
@The_Tim Mine are in Pitney Bowes hell.
@Kyeh @The_Tim I’m not sure about coffee but the tea is great. I like the timer since for green tea it tends to get bitter if you over steep it.

P.S. - Here’s how it broke. I was holding the handle and honestly not twisting all that hard at all. Thankfully I didn’t slice open my hand.
@The_Tim Personally I like plastic.
@The_Tim Yikes!
