The headline makes it sound more malicious on the part of the UPS driver. Sounds like the driver tried to do a nice thing, but did it in a boneheaded way. I imagine in NYC people check inside dumpsters for goodies dozens of times a day and they can pretty much safely assume that anything in there is discarded. Plus there’s the threat of it being emptied before the packages are retrieved.
As much of a hassle as not getting your package is, next time I bet the body shop owner would appreciate just the ticket saying it would be redelivered tomorrow.
@unmlobo300 That shouldn’t make any difference. Add oil and a match and voila. Fire. Cuyahoga river burned and partly melted a railroad bridge way back when… Packages would, presuming they floated, should burn well too in the river.
The real question is, did the stuff get stolen out of the dumpster, or did the dumpster get emptied?

At least the packages weren’t found burning under a viaduct, that’s nice.
Viaduct?
@unmlobo300 Fancy bridge.

Viaduct? Why not an oyster?
@unmlobo300 Why not a chicken?
The water is too deep!
