So the case and buds together provide up to 10 total hours of usage, but you’ll have to take a break every 2.5 hours to charge the buds. Read through the amazon product page, the last set of pictures in the ad copy talk about the case, where it says: “10 hours Total Playtime, Playtime per charge: 2.5 hr.”
@mdjst5 I agree. If I have to charge them every 2 1/2 hours, I’m not interested. I have a Bluetooth headset (one ear) that I get 11 hours of playtime. But that’s Plantronics, not Bob’s Earbuds, er Gabba Goods.
@mdjst5 if it’s actually only 2.5 hours, and if charge time is actually 1 hour that’s terrible. I’ve had the AirPods for almost a year, and I can regularly get 3-4 hours on a single charge, and fully recharged in ~15 minutes.
FYI: all of these off-brand fully-wireless earbuds have that same stereo desync/dropped sound issue that happens to the “slave” bud. It’s because these things aren’t “true” stereo in the sense that they’re not separate devices connecting to the sound source. As far as I know, one of the buds communicates with the sound source, and transmits to the second. Since you have a head full of electricity and eyeballs between the two buds, the latter signal is unreliable.
I’m not saying you shouldn’t buy these, just don’t expect the experience to be that great.
This company sold bluetooth sleep eye cover things on Meh before. They arrived not working, Meh denied responsibility as they do and passed it to these Yabba Dabba Douchebags who wanted me to ship the brand new faulty product to them at my cost. I’d just stay away if I was you.
@bobthenormal Most companies require you to send the product back. When my GoPro stopped working, I had to ship it back. The shipping to me was free but I had to pay to ship to them.
What annoys me is when a warranty requires that you ship the item back plus include $25 for return shipping per item. This happens with many knives that have a lifetime warranty. They are usually those cheap ones sold at Sams club when they occasionally have a salesperson demonstrate them by cutting an iron hammer and then cutting a tomato. In my opinion, the knife isn’t even worth the price of shipping so the warranty is a money making venture for the company.

I’m here to brag about some other completely different item from a completely different website. This is my humblebrag douchebag comment. I got in for $89 but the going rate for these now are $180. You’re all suckers and I’m a douchebag.
These work fine for me while I’m at the office. I can listen to music for about 2 hours, and then when they need recharged, I can take that as my cue to step away from my monitors for a sec while they recharge in their case and my eyeballs recharge in theirs.
I just got a set of the Anker Zolo Liberty+ that I kickstarted some time ago. These are $179 retail, but got for $89 as a backer.
In short – they’re pretty awesome. Easy to use, stays put in my ears (tested with a 3 mile run), and lasts 3.5 hours per charge. The kicker is that the storage pod, like these offered today, also charge them, but the Liberty+ offers 48 hours of total playback time (or charge equivalent).
I thought they would be perfect, but have since found out a few things that bother me about them (and other similar “wireless” designs):
They don’t have multi-point BT connection. Basically this means I can’t connect to 2 devices at the same time. My Jaybird X3’s have this (currently $99 on Amazon) and that feature is great for my commute. If I’m watching a video on my tablet, and my phone rings, the audio automatically switches to the phone, and back to the tablet after the call. No digging my phone out of my pocket.
There’s a behavior change I’m not sure I’ve bought into yet. With my Jaybirds, when I’m done (i.e. off the train, walking to work), I can simply remove them from my ears and let them hang off my neck. With these, I need to locate the “pod”, take them out of my ears, put them in the pod, then put the pod safely away.
I know that might not seem like a herculean task, but compound it with wearing gloves, winter coats and a crowded train, and it becomes burdensome.
Anyway, I figured today’s deal may have some of the same pitfalls so I wanted to mention it. I do really like the Liberty’s for running so far. I’ll see they work their way into my daily routine.

@ACraigL I’ll start by saying I love Anker batteries and cables, but I’ve given up on their soundbuds. I’ve tried pretty much every version of their wired sound pod (bluetooth, but wire between the two earbuds) and they’ve all failed between a week and 3 months. The warranty is top notch, they’ll replace them with free shipping both ways, but you get tired of having to constantly wait for a new pair. I used them while running and even though Anker claimed they met the various water resistant standards, I’m sure that’s what caused them to fail. I’ve since gone back to Jaybird X2 and Freedom and have no issues.

@DVDBZN The key there is “good” speakers. I doubt these can go down to 20 Hz. It probably really only does go down to 200 Hz so that part is reasonable to me.

I was looking at Amazon just before midnight; one of their lightning deals right now is a bluetooth earbud for $14.69. Then I did a search and found that there are many of them under $20. Matter of fact, here is another thing. There’s a fuzzy background noise any time audio is playing or poised to play. Is this a defect, a regular flaw in the product, or a cheap and bad “noise canceling” “feature”?
These things are dreadful. One pod lasts 15 min then needs to be recharged. The other lasts maybe a half hour. Plus they both sound like they have a spell of illegibility cast on them. Going to contact the manufacturer for warranty replacement so, you know, i’m sure that’s going to work out great…

They actually only last about 75 minutes on a charge. I even had them die at 20 minutes once.

@tomdina, mine stay charged about 70 minutes.
