Big 5 is a Sporting Goods chain on the west coast.
These will be a fairly low cost entry to see if they work for you or not before they fail. I personally prefer the ones with rubber tips like traditional earbuds over these airpod knock-offs which seem more prone to falling out and much less noise isolating.
My guess is a red LED charging indicator inside the charging case.
Most bluetooth earbuds suffer from audio lag, I wouldn’t expect these to be any different, and certainly not any better than higher quality offerings. That said, not just for music, but audiobooks, podcasts, phone calls, etc.
Sure they can go in your pocket, just don’t expect that they’ll have much of a charge when you want to use them again.
Some are better than others, I’ve had some last me for a transcontinental flight. Haven’t found any that will last an entire work shift though. These might last you a workout session.

It’s a shtick for sure, but it’s the quality content and babydoll that i stick around for.
Ordered these - delivered today. I charged them, then tried to use them. While removing the right earbud from the charging case the clip stuck and literally ripped the guts out of the earpiece. I didn’t even pull hard.
If you got these, be wary charging them. I’m not sure there was anything I did that caused it, or anything I could’ve done that would prevent it, but be wary nonetheless.

I ordered two pairs of these, and they are literally the most useless product I’ve purchased in quite some time. They do not fit my ears in the slightest, they just fall right out immediately. If you hold them in place, the sound is so poor as to be unlistenable. These are the devil’s earbuds and I will forever rue the day I purchased them.
I have never found an ear bud that stays in, so I no longer buy them. If they have a band that goes around my head they sometimes work, as occasionally do the ones that hang on your ear. But none are very good.
@andyw I haven’t either. But after acquiring EarPods I found some silicone “ear hooks” for ten bucks that, amazingly, keep the EarPods from falling out. The only drawback is that I have to remove them each time after use as they won’t fit in the charging case.
The item id on Amazon is B071GQ7F6M. They don’t look pretty, but they kept me from having to sell or gift my EarPods. (note: despite the name they don’t actually hook onto your ears)

These support Bluetooth 5.0, which is the latest version of the tech. And wireless charging too. If I didn’t hate ear buds, I would be tempted to buy a set.

Got mine today too. Two led’s on the case, one red, one blue. First thing I did was pop the earbuds in the case, and put them on the wireless charger. Took a nap, woke up and only red led still lit. Looked at instructions, both led’s light up when fully charged. Hours later still only one led. Strange.
Also, wireless charging pad and case were pretty warm when I woke up from nap.
Ordered 2 pair, first pair charges the left earpod but stops when the right is inserted. switched them around and it charged them up and they worked for 2 hours. Now wont charge at all. On to the second pair:
Two sets seem to be working OK, but one set arrived with the left earbud refusing to take a charge at all. Tried with all 3 charging boxes, just in case, but no love there to be had.

Wore ear buds (full charge) on a 1 hour walk paired with iPhone 7. Phone in pocket not more than 12-24 inches from buds. Not my usual kevlar vest. Weather great, sunny but a bit breezy, 45 degrees. Many problems. Buds set up quick and easy. Constant cutting in and out though. Seldom in synch. First, left bud, then right, then both. Sound quality good but both buds playing together and stable never more than 1 minute at a time.
Left bud out of power in 90 minutes. Right bud about 120 minutes. One thing they do well is tell you about 5 times that there is a “low battery.”
Charging, not sure pad works at all. Direct hook up good.
Overal rating, disappointed, would not recommend. You could send me another set but not if they’re no better than the set I have. Out.
These earbuds suck. Even though the indicator says they’re charged, when I connect my phone it says they are only charged 90%. The three times I’ve used them they last about 40 minutes before I hear, “Low battery”. Then in 4-5 minutes they are done. They won’t even get me through a 1 hour workout. I should have known for $14…but I believed your description. My bad.

I don’t understand this huge desire to get that snot-dripping-out-of-your-ear look with all the AirPod copies out there.
I happen to own real AirPods after getting a deal on them for $109. But I wanted their excellent Apple device integration and ease of use.
I did so knowing I was getting some handy functionality in return for that silly look.
