@craigthom I immediately had the same thought! Didn’t think anybody would remember it.
I have fond memories of it - my grandfather had one at his desk. That meant it was a special thing for anyone else to get to use it. Although his was cream color.
just arrived and i just tried it. if you hate ironing but want the results of ironing, this thing delivers 80% of a good ironing with 30% the effort.
hang your shirt on a hangar on the shower curtain rod, plug this sucker in, run it over the collar tips, back, front, sleeves, and buttons and you’ve got a nice looking unwrinkled shirt in minutes with no setting up an ironing board or fussing with adjusting sections of the shirt to lie flat.
i used half the water reservoir on three shirts.
you’re not going to get super creases in sleeves or collars, but you will get a solid “this looks good enough to wear in polite company” outcome.
@midstarrynight no I’m going to block it the normal way. I saw a video that said steaming your work makes it softer. I’m thinking maybe it melts the acrylic a little, which is I guess a good thing, as long as it’s only a little.
@PooltoyWolf
I found the original image, but I can’t tell what kind of microphone was originally there. I’m guessing it’s some model of Turner.

I have a Rowenta with over 400 steam holes I bought it on HSN for about a hundred bucks what I don’t like is having to keep moving my shirts and pants around the ironing board it’s a pain in the cock so I’m going to give this a try I shopped around and the lowest price I could find was overstock.com and that was $62 so I call it say severely deep discount thank you team m e h I’m going to grab one

This was someone’s return how do I know umm there was water in the reservoir, It worked well after I put one of the attachments on the ceramic plate. It was spitting out water and making the garment wet so be prepared to wait for the garment to dry afterward, did a great job on some new all wrinkled cotton tees but not as well on some worn cargo pants with heavy creases, I’m 65 so the arm got a Lil tired holding it up to long, read the instructions carefully, all and all I rather use this than an iron, Steam does not blast out as it does on HSN demo video I think they plugged it into a 220 to show all that steam,( Lil trick they use) don’t get your hand in the way you will get a severe burn, also there is no button to release the reservoir just pull it off,Is it worth the 32 bucks I paid? I would say no but close enough Think at $25.00 that would be a fair price.
Please stop shipping items with USPS. My package still hasn’t arrived even though it has been scheduled for delivery a week ago. Shipping information just says “In Transit” but the expected delivery was last week.
Man, when I first saw this I thought it was going to be an Ericofon.

@RedOak My neighbor’s sister had one in her bedroom. I don’t remember the color, but I’m sure it wasn’t red.
Been outside lately, Meh? It’s already hot and humid here, also known as “steamy”. I can just wear my clothes outside instead of using this thing.
Try again come late Autumn.
@phendrick Are you getting Meh confused with a real web marketing company?
As opposed to that cut-rate brand, False & Messy.
Not only can you steam your clothes, but use this for your lobster, mussels, clams etc
I have been using a steamer for years on my clothes. So much faster/easier than an iron!
@tinamarie1974 especially since you don’t have to take your clothes off first…
@eeterrific huh?

Isn’t this just a less functional iron?
I don’t trust my good clothes to my cleaning and pressing prowess, well lack thereof. My wife hid the iron long ago.
@hchavers So…um…“hiding the iron” isn’t a euphemism?
If this is handheld streamer, I wonder what legheld streamer looks like? Also, why is iron not called handheld hotter or burner?
awesome, i was planning to shop for one of these on amazon today to use on my crochet projects.
VAN MURALS! GROUND SQUIRRELS! SPIT CURLS! AWESOME!
@katylava to block it? What are you making?
@midstarrynight no I’m going to block it the normal way. I saw a video that said steaming your work makes it softer. I’m thinking maybe it melts the acrylic a little, which is I guess a good thing, as long as it’s only a little.
Current project is a mandala (unfinished):
@katylava oh interesting! That’s good to know. I might have to try it on some old yarn…
The mandala looks great!
But can you steam vegetables?
@iPooOnUFirstMeh Sure. Whether it makes them edible is another question.

28800254892961651752960000000000? This thing must be wicked hot
Do we know if this model is small enough to be considered a travel steamer? Like could I pack this in a carry-on and bring it with me when I travel?
@brad10104 um, maybe not your carryon baggage, TSA might think it’s a weapon
@brad10104 @superman10000
Carryon baggage? Like roadkill?

I like the silly pic this time, very creative.

@eonfifty Most likely a Turner, Motorola, or Shure.
@PooltoyWolf
After a brief web search, I’m pretty sure it’s a Shure.
/image Shure base microphone ham
@eonfifty and of course it finds a GE mike. LOL
@PooltoyWolf
I’m sure it has Shure guts
@PooltoyWolf “Calling Manila. Calling Manila. Come in Manila!”
@eonfifty Don’t be so Shure of yourself

@mdatel It says on the sale:
Keep yer hope alive one more day!
Still hasn’t arrived. It’s been “out-for-delivery” since the 16th. USPS is yet to respond to any of my inquiries on where it is.
@mdatel have you gone into the actual post office? Also have you contacted support?
