I got stuck in Hong Kong for 12 hours overnight, and even there it pretty much shuts down after 10 pm. I was trying to stay up all night so that I could sleep on the flight to Dallas, and I got to watch them maintenance and clean the walkways. The cleaning robots were pretty cool. And there was a giant duck made of canned meat for some reason. Of course it could all have been an hallucination at 3 am. Did I say I tried to stay up all night. Thank goodness there was an all night McDonald’s.
@enville I was in Hong Kong and one way a typhoon shut the airport down. We are stuck there for 15 hours. Early in the morning the female Italian soccer team and students going to the Semester at Sea were stuck there. Until it got too crowded they played soccer. On the way home with my daughter (and an 18 month old I was escorting we were stuck there from 6pm - midnight (their time) and she discovered escalators and moving sidewalks (this child went from the stone age to the space age in 36 hours) which entertained her for hours (luckily for me the 18 mo old fell asleep in the baby backpack at about 8pm). Oh and the elevator. She would have been content standing in that for hours pushing all the buttons too.
@heartny Those zebra crossing stripes really bother me.
@heartny Somebody put way too much work into this.
Stand to the right. Walk to the left. This is not complicated, but O.M.G. is humanity dumb as shit.
Or just seriously inconsiderate…
@shahnm Yes! Same for escalators.

This kid is going places.
@blaineg love that
Depends on if I’m rushing to catch a connecting flight or not. A couple times in my life now I’ve had to really charge down those things.
The Swiss approach.
The only way to get through Atlanta Airport.
@Mehrocco_Mole Yes it is.
I would walk on it, but there’s usually people standing in place two across.

I prefer to run mindlessly and pass lazy people that are on them.
Plank across the handrails.
It’s a “walkway”, not a “standway”.
Then again, we do drive on parkways and park on driveways, so…
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Drives me crazy when I an in a hurry to meet a connection. And people are blocking the walkway
