2Current Challenge: Write a haiku about your favorite beverage.
WHAT’S GOING ON HERE??
The basics: We’re doing a little April Fools’ Day game, asking our users to complete a series of ridiculous, stupid, and fun (we hope) photography/writing/drawing tasks throughout the day.
But why: Because April Fools’ Day has grown tiresome. Sure, maybe we laughed the first few years that corporations took on the challenge of lying to their customers. But then, we got to the point where Continental was tweeting about their new airliner constructed entirely from bacon or whatever and it got a little old. We want to celebrate April Fools’ Day in a fun way.
Okay, but why on March 31st: Because you’re more likely to be tethered to your computer on a Friday than a Saturday.
Will there be winners: Yes! The winner will be whoever gets the most votes on their entry!
Will there be prizes: Yes! The pride of knowing you had some fun on the internet!
So, there won’t be prizes: Correct. Anyway, we hope you enjoy yourself.

Orange cream soda
A dream from my childhood
Always in my heart
Water is my thing
Even though it makes me pee
Chug and run all day
Love my Diet Coke
But I am not an addict
Nor in denial
Bubbles grace my tongue
The distant presence of fruit
LaCroix quenched my thirst
Bitter black liquid -
They say it comes from a plant.
“They” is Juan Valdez.
Why did I wake up?
Surely not to pursue worms.
Oh yeah! Espresso.

Nothing’s quenchier!
The day, it starts now
Cold, dark, quiet, brutal morning
Coffee, all is right.
Open my eyes now
Darker is better for me
Coffee do your job
Amber liquid gold,
Aged in barrels, smooth and bold,
Bourbon warms the soul.
Coffee coffee now
Smash the alarm clock in two
Don’t talk to me yet
Water, water ev-
erywhere, not a drop to drink!
I’ll have coffee, thanks!

Plain old tap water
Survival requirement
But boring as hell
Aged charred oak barrels
Make a wonderful spirit
That makes us feel good
Cold taste of craft beer
Different city, next review
I swear I’m no snob
Six tequila shots
to top up my plastic glass,
to hell with mixers.

Liquid brown gold in my cup
Can’t stop gulping it

Sugar-free, carbonated,
Fresca is the bomb.

Enabling sentience!
I’ll blink tomorrow.
