Under the couch for sure, the cats like to lose all their toys under there. That wouldn’t be too bad, except every now and then, very exciting new toys that we didn’t buy make their way into the house. Now when I clean under there, I make sure to actually look at each thing before picking it up to toss in the toy box.
@Star2236 Don’t remember – but they weren’t exciting enough to use at the time. Already donated most of the undesirable (to me) stuff. Not worth the effort to go look. And, no telling what’s by now also hiding in there.
Too bad Meh doesn’t list items like on orders. (If they did, maybe a lot of recipients would reroute directly to Salvation Army / flea markets.)
The laundry room, which is where the cats’ litter box is. Fortunately for me, our current division of household chores doesn’t require me to go in there very often.
@chienfou@macromeh Nah - smart, because they got released from those chores! When I was a kid, I’d say that the thing about dogs being smarter than cats because they do tricks was backwards. I said cats are smarter because they refuse to do those dumb things that humans demand.

Basement, don’t make me go down there.
@tinamarie1974 Same!
My cats’ dirt box. Or maybe the cockroach farm on the sticky papers, curtesy of my landlord.
@Kidsandliz When my glue boards are filled with evil cave crickets, they are rather gross.

@Aspirant_Fool
Like formerly live creatures?
@Kyeh Definitely formerly alive by the time I find them under the couch. Probably a safe bet they were alive when the cats started playing with them.
(Mostly mice, but once a frog? I don’t know how that happened.)
@Aspirant_Fool Euw. My friend once stepped on a partial mouse in the middle of the night, on the way to the bathroom.
My kids’ bedroom.
The garage floor just outside my trunk.
Maybe not under the couch but if you lift the couch cushions you’ll feel something gritty and/or sticky for sure.
That closet where I stash the worthwhile IRKs. (It hasn’t been used in several years.)
@phendrick
What you got in there?

The cat box, duh.
Inside the sewer drain pipe…if under your couch is grosser than that then you have some major hygiene issues.
Just saying…
@sicc574
not quite sure why you would be going into your sewer pipe very often, but maybe consider a visit from roto-rooter or some drain cleaner

@macromeh
wait… you trained the cats to do laundry??
/giphy that rocks!
@chienfou @macromeh
Well, mine does a good job of washing his own coat!
@Kyeh @macromeh
@chienfou @Kyeh Well, we tried for a while but they were always putting the socks and underwear away in the wrong drawer. Stupid cats.

/showme the grossest place in my house style of Norman Rockwell
@mediocrebot Some assembly required
/showme the grossest place in my house
@mediocrebot I didn’t know I had a large intestine trapped in concrete, but I guess I better double-check.
@awk @mediocrebot
don’t worry, it will be gone in a few weeks… meanwhile park the HEPA unit next to it.
The kitchen trash can. Duh
I should make a compost heap, but my neighbors are too close.
@hchavers They can be composted too.
On top of the kitchen cabinets
Under the fridge. I can only get so far back before the fuzzies just take over that world.
Me
The floor in the one room that still has carpet.
Any place I can’t reach easily to clean.
Probably the basement, it’s unfinished so lots of gross stuff (including bugs) down there.
