Thanksgoating - Day twenty four. Gobble gobble
12So, it’s Thanksgiving. This should be an easy one. But I’m tossing this to you.
Today I am thankful for the past three weeks.
I’m a little bummed I’m in the last week of goatdom. It’s like flying in first class and being on final approach. You are ready to get to your destination, but you don’t want to get out of your seat just yet.
I’m so happy I’ve been able to share my story. And share the things I’ve been blessed with. Thank you for the platform and thank you for listening. Your responses have been healing. And it’s been great getting a much better understanding of this community. Today is the day of thanks so I’m going to make this short.
Right now, we are ALL gathered around the table. It’s a big table. Some of us have wonderful turkey ready to be carved. Some have that thing your aunt burned. Probably a few of us with that weird sweet potato dish with the marshmallows. And some of us are alone.
We all walk different paths, but we are all at this table. And I’m holding your hand. I’m not letting go until you tell me something you are thankful for. It could be as simple as you found the remote in the couch… or your cat didn’t barf this morning. Or something more profound that was life changing for you. Or anything in between. It’s your day. It’s been wonderful to be an open book this month. I hope you’ve gotten to know me a little bit. You really don’t have to say anything. But I know everyone has a story. Welcome to me.
Happy Thanksgiving.
JB

I’m thankful I only have 1st World problems to worry about. Things could be WAY better, but they’re not bad
I’m thankful for the opportunity to get together with my family on a beautiful beach in Florida and spend a week getting to know the grandkids better, digging in the sand, kayaking at sunset, playing with their dog, taking long walks on the beach with my wife, watching the FIFA world cup, and in general enjoying life.
It’s been a pleasure getting to know you a bit better this month cap’n. The meh community is truly full of wonderful people, many of which I would be more than happy to sit down and have a beer with someday.
@chienfou Sounds wonderful. Soak it all in
@capnjb

@chienfou Well… now I’m jealous

Don’t be! I’m sure time spent with your family was equally as rewarding.
I just finished setting up a picture on the steps to the rental house, lower steps with the grandkids, above them their parents and dog, above them my wife and I, and at the top of the stairs my 90 year old mom in a chair. Everyone in Santa hats with sunglasses. It was awe-some!
@chienfou It does sound awe-some! I bet you got an unforgettable memory. My sister just took her first U.S. post in a decade. It was wonderful to have a full table again.
I’m thankful that my family, which went through some drama and trauma earlier this year, all got together for a nice happy dinner - all the food was good! Nobody had any arguments! Things were marvelously peaceful and harmonious, and back in July I wouldn’t have predicted that.
