@akapl2002 I’m curious about your issue with the term “cold brewed coffee” - is it the “cold” part, or the “brewed?” 'Cause it’s perfectly possible to make heatless coffee by putting the grounds in water and letting it sit overnight (I personally don’t find it worth the trouble), but I think that’s technically steeping rather than brewing.
@kuoh It depends on exactly how inept the cook is. When I was in South Korea (Camp Casey), 3 of my junior enlisted guys went out to lunch one day and ordered up a big batch of fried chicken. Since the cook didn’t have any prepared, he took a batch out of the freezer, coated them in batter, and dumped them into the fryer. We started referring to this meal as the “Salmonella Surprise” selection, even though I think it was actually listeria that did them in. All three developed a strong dislike for chicken.
Turkey done properly is very hard to beat. But doing it properly is more work and more finicky than doing chicken ‘acceptably’. I’ll take turkey every time if its done right. But chicken is good stuff too!
Neither are great honestly. That’s why you have to add seasonings, sauces, and other things to make them palatable. The reason many people prefer chicken is it’s so bland you can make it taste however you want.
@edguyver14 That was my husband in our 20’s. Now hes 52 with renial disease. Now its chicken & turkey only!!! No salt n nothing green!!! I have to cook every meal/snack for him. Just a heads up, u may wanna lighten up on the pork n red meat!
@cristysue Wow, sorry to hear that. And thanks for your concern. I’m 41 and have blood work done once a year to check all my levels and so far all is well. I can’t eat any greens either, only root vegetables.
I’ve had great chicken and I have had tasteless or worse chicken.
I’ve had great turkey and I have had tasteless or worse turkey.
So I’m staying home for this election.

At its best, I think turkey tastes better than chicken. But I also find chicken a lot more forgiving to cook with, so in practice chicken is usually the winner. Certainly the safer bet if you’re eating somewhere cheap.

You sound like you get upset quite a bit.
I’ve never met a bad piece of fried chicken, even from the most inept cook. Turkey on the other hand has disappointed me more often than not.

Kinda depends upon the dish, how well it’s prepared, and what I’m looking to eat at that moment… But yeah, I’ll have the quail.

I prefer boneless chicken thighs above all else, but turkey is mucho yummy when cooked right.
