@lisaviolet@sammydog01 I hope Playon works out better for you than it did for me. I bought a “lifetime” sub a few years ago (I think it was on sale then around $60 IIRC). It only worked some of the time since the content providers were always trying to thwart the (barely legal) Playon model. But they would update the SW periodically to workaround the issues. So, clunky but often worked.
Now, they’ve introduced a “new and improved” product that requires a new license (no grandfathering of existing license holders). And they don’t seem to be updating the old version any more. So my old product works with fewer content providers as time goes on. Swell.
In summary, I regret my purchase and would not recommend Playon.

After some back and forth, they offered me a three month trial for their most recent version. I nixed on the cloud version, going for the one for my computer. And took advantage of it. I downloaded full seasons of Justified, Castle, Breaking Bad, Elementary and one movie - Death on the Nile.
There’s a disclaimer before each recorded video, stating who downloaded it with the IP of the system downloading. The only drawback is the recordings are only SD. But, if you save them on the cloud and download them, you can get full 1080p versions.
They have credits that you can use for saving to the cloud. One point for SD recordings, three points for HD. And you have seven days to download.
I got a deal, 50 credits for $7.50. Fifteen cents a credit. So, for forty-five cents, I can download an HD version. I can get sixteen videos for $7.50.
Not bad.
And less than $120 for five years? Okay, I’m okay with that.
I’m really on a tear right now with saving my stuff to a hard drive. The first week this month I ripped over 400 cds to the NAS. I have about 200 left (country and soundtracks) to do. That’s about a row and a half.

Thinking this would shutup the mehtizens when they see the rising price tag, they were in for a surprise when they continued to sell out. They didn’t count on the mehtizens being just as spiteful and willing to part with their money in order to prove a point. I’m sure meh will return fire w/ an IRK package containing pasta, candy corn, a 2watt bluetooth speaker dock, and a rock like @jnicholson0619 suggested. Of course we can continue the spite war by being happy w/ the package. It’ll be interesting and meh will be rich and since I didn’t get an IRK, I’ll be entertained which is the greatest reward of all.
