We got damn lucky in that a major winter storm just missed us a couple weeks ago…We “only” ended up w/ about 4" of wet sloppy snow, where 25 miles west of Fargo got over a foot. Another 90 miles northwest of there had over 2 feet. Yeah it all melted at least but still way too early for that crap!! No, I didn’t have to use the snowblower, but I wanted to, so I did…
@Limewater Must be the angle because my little monster has a 23" cut. I get a lot of work done in a little time with this machine! Many times I get more done than my neighbors who have much larger machines…Love my Husqvarna!!
@Limewater Well…you see that kind of logic comes with wisdom & a fair amount of intelligence…which apparently is something I have yet to allow to creep into my daily routine. This will be my 51st Winter, so I guess if it really bothered me too much, I would have left by now… Not saying it won’t happen sometime in the future, but Ma Nature hasn’t won by KO quite yet!
@ybmuG Mostly in Johannesburg, but we spent a few days in Cape Town, and a week in Kruger Park. Plus a side trip to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, it was 103-104 F while we were there.
It is likely going to snow with accumulation for Halloween. I took the day off to punish trick-or-treaters with fidget spinners and small candies, but we may not get many…
It’s supposed to snow overnight, but turn into rain in the morning, so I’m not expecting to see it or have to clean it off my car. But I never took the snow brush out of my car, so I’m set either way.
I’m inside, so no.
@awk Nature loves to surprise.
@awk I considered answering this way. (It is the obvious answer for sufficiently small definitions of “here.”)
However, I decided that it was foolish to challenge Mother Nature and Murphy, so I went with No and did not say anything.
No, because it doesn’t snow in South Florida.
Feel free to send some down here if anyone has too much of it.
@JT954 please share if you get some!
I intentionally moved to where it never snows.
@kittykat9180 ditto
Does ash falling from the sky count? It’s a California winter tradition …
Clever market research for selling winter goods, I see.
@lljk you have been here long enough to know they sell the winter stuff in spring and or early summer
Supposed to tonight. Up to 2" accumulation in the Milwaukee area.
@rtjhnstn All together now… I dreaming of a white halloween

@tohar1 pretty!!
@tohar1 Is it just the angle, or is that a really narrow snow blower? Sixteen inches or less?
@Limewater Must be the angle because my little monster has a 23" cut. I get a lot of work done in a little time with this machine! Many times I get more done than my neighbors who have much larger machines…Love my Husqvarna!!
@tohar1 I liked my (not nearly so nice) snow blower, but not as much as I liked moving south to a place where I did not need it anymore.

We are getting melted snow from the sky
/giphy heavy rain storm
It’s currently snowing in my part of Iowa.
As of midnight, I had about 2 inches of snow on top of my car. Thankfully it isn’t sticking to the roads, sidewalks, or drives.
@msklzannie I haven’t looked outside in my part of Iowa, yet. So it has neither snowed and not snowed.
This year? Nope.
This decade? I’m pretty sure it did a time or two.
Madison, WI, it’s still snowing at 4AM
Oklahoma 6+ inches the other day.
Shhhhh, not yet. Mother Nature has been kind. That four letter word was mentioned on the forecast for this week though.
Not yet, but we might get flurries on Halloween! As much as I love snow, this is not optimal for trick or treating with the kiddos in little costumes!
@tinamarie1974 Don’t worry. Costumes for young children are usually pretty modest.
In these parts of Massachusetts, it doesn’t really start snowing until January.
7" in Salem, UT. They say more is coming today.
No snow in South Africa, but I’m dreading the thermal shock when we return home in a few days!
@blaineg BTW - What part of SA are you in? Was in Welkom 11 yrs ago
@ybmuG Mostly in Johannesburg, but we spent a few days in Cape Town, and a week in Kruger Park. Plus a side trip to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, it was 103-104 F while we were there.
I can see from the cameras that it’s snowed at home, but it’s only a dusting.
It usually freezes over with a sheet of ice before the snow falls, and the ice is coming next week.
@hchavers sounds familiar
We’re in day 3 of a 4 day storm. Our first was a couple weeks ago. (Colorado)
Some frozen stuff…not sure if it was sleet, freezing mist, or some such. Probably not technically snow.
Huh. “Snowed here” is neck-and-neck with “doesn’t snow here.”
Isn’t Carrollton, TX in the latter category?
We got probably 1/2 inch in Des Moines, last night. There is none on the streets, but the cars are covered.
Looks like 1/2” in Linn Co, IA
0.1 inch this morning, se wisconsin.
About a quarter inch fell and maybe half that is on the roofs of cars this morning. The rest appears to have melted.
It better not snow in MI still Xmas!
And then it can be summer again
We got about 4" last night and a couple of inches a few weeks ago here in the UP of Michigan.

Light dusting in SE WI that pretty much melted as it landed very early AM today.
